I certainly did not think the author was capable of a story like this. Cool.

...Now picture Marisa saying these with a cigar in her mouth and a gruff voice during a rainy night.
Reimu might as well be the dame whose legs won't quit.

One of our earlier works and my favorite, someone just brought it to my attention though that there is a duplicate bubble on page 32.

Not sure what the process is to contact the mods on the site but if they see this, here is a replacement image with the problem fixed.

Nice plot, Love the art too. Reimu with Marisa's hat looks nice as well.

Thanks, uploading the fix for that now. Posting here or getting at me on Discord #0863 Orange Pekoe does the trick best.

It's always interesting seeing the different takes on Gensokyo that appear in fan works. From what I understand, this one was a lot more modern than canon, without getting into the Sci-fi you sometimes see. I think the roughly turn of the century mix of western tech, in the form of old fashioned cars and clothing, alongside more traditional Japanese aesthetics works really well, especially with the occasional splash of completely anachronistic stuff, like a cellphone with cloaking tech.

I really want to see more from this version of Gensokyo.

The character designs here are great. Marisa looks so badass in that cloak-like dress along with her comically large hat. Fusing Gensokyo with some late 19th/early 20th century technology makes it look something straight out of the Meiji/Taisho era (which I assume is the point). Besides the aesthetics, one gripe I have with these sort of whodunnits', is that you would never be able to figure out within reason what could be the causes, since the reasons created are so obscure and contrived. Still a fun doujin.

Also btw, dunno if anyone will see, but the lower left panel on page 3 seems to be a duplicate text bubble, unless Reimu is repeating back what Marisa said to her (which I would assume would have something like "huh" at the end of the phrase, to question what Marisa said).
