@Yurichan300 In some games, like Extra and FGO, you actually have the option between a male and a female character (the default name is the same regardless of gender, in Extra it's Hakuno Kishinami, and in FGO it's Ritsuka Fujimaru).
Also, the original game (which originated the Prototype LN) had a female protagonist.

Edit: Female Ritsuka is also known as Gudako, btw.
