everyone on here is like "this is weird" and im sitting here in the San Francisco bay area laughing at how normal it is.

as i was reading it i was thinking that there's someone, somewhere, who feels that this translation is 100% for them

I agree. Big mistake. There's plenty of Momo doujinshi trans that was done the same way as the anime trans. It works, it is fine. And I did read all the comments and the links. In my case they're a favorite pairing and canon, so it really made me sick. I can eye-roll the "my bad", "just sayin" and the pitiful translations that have "like" as every other word, as if Japanese adults, especially upper class, would talk the way american kids do. I wish someone else had done this. Such a waste.

ehh. i guess its weird, but i agree with the choice after seeing their reasoning. at the very least, its understandable that they would go this route if they didnt want to leave anything untranslated. and honestly, i prefer it when translations actually translate instead of leaving in traces of weebism. just seems lazy to me if they leave them in-degozaru.

it's not and she's not, she's not saying Yumi is an "otoko" or "yatsu" she's just ending her sentence with ssu as usual.

A translation example i saw in another context:

"Ikitaku nai SSU. Tsukareru SHI."

"I'm not gonna go, dude. Like, I get tired, man!"

I havent looked a raw Sakis much so I dunno if Momo also uses "shi" at the end. I wouldn't be surprised.

Also Momo's character in the anime and manga would never forego the sweet taste of "SEMPAIIIII!" on her tongue.

I actually knew a very attractive young Japanese woman who talked like this, and she did say "dude" when she spoke English. She also swore like a sailor.
