This is the most generic yuri manga ever written. it is like a template for 80% of yuri mangas out there. Like a writer presenting a proof of concept to an editor. Like a paper form filled with random names. Like somebody combined over 9000 schoolgirl yuri works out three into one and came up with this. It is like a yuri fanfic by a 16 year old.

Rather than "generic", perhaps you mean "Platonic Ideal". This is the closest approximation of how "yuri oneshot" is expressed in the unearthly realm of pure forms.

Without much substance, but very cute. It feels like they skipped over the particulars of why they like each other to follow the format, but I liked it.

Plus, the art is so cute I'm obligated to like it.

Tbh I think a 16 year old could probably come up with something better then this doujin.

A 16 year old would probably be a lot more perverted.

As for this, it was nice.

People here have a jaded mind because they read tons of yuri before, but for some Japanese teen readers not accustomed to yuri, I think they'd find it cute.

It's just a one shot, ffs. A self contained story with a very simple storyline. Don't go and expect every yuri story to be groundbreaking.

We aren't asking for oneshots to be "groundbreaking", we just wan't them to at least have something of substance. Being a oneshot doesn't give it an excuse to be bland like this. There are tons of oneshots out there that are really good and intriguing. Even the the simplest of oneshots have more intrigue then this. The art is the only thing this doujin has going for it.

That was like an entire serial drama manga condensed into 19 pages.

Fucking diabetes

Very generic and character development is nonexistent

The story is very by-the-books, but it's not fair to say there's zero character development. Watase is at least a slightly different person at the end of the story compared to when she started. It isn't the most drastic or involved character arc ever, but it's there.
