Apparently Germany just legalised same-sex marriage. Might be relevant to someone here.

My friend lives out there and posted something about it. Not a fan of marriage myself but it's still good to see another country taking a step forward....

Ahem... Australia....

Love as a side plot is fine. A few pages back in here i list some of my favorite films so that might give you a good indication of the subjects i like.

https://dynasty-scans.com/forum/topics/9727-wdtfs-fans-off-topic?page=382

But when it comes to music I'm less about the lyrics and more interested in the instrumentation.
Subject wise they generally sing about Life/Death, hatred, philosophy, sadness/despair, politics etc

I have not watched many things at all. Out of those mentioned, I have watched Drive and The Room. Drive is definitely in my top movies as well. The aesthetics, the soundtrack, everything is on point.

I have seen parts of V for Vendetta and 2001: A Space Odyssey. I have been meaning to watch The Professional, A Requiem for a Dream, Fight Club, the Edge of Tomorrow, etc... You mentioned Alien a lot, it's about time I watch that too.

Any mangas, manhwas, or anime you recommend? That's a loaded question.

Nice choice in subjects, very deep.

The Room was a joke film in that list by the way haha, It's absolutely terrible but worth watching once and then never subjecting yourself to it again.

I found Drive great for those very reasons too. The soundtrack was especially great.

Alien and Aliens are the best in that series and definitely worth watching.

I don't watch a lot of anime but i recommend Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Black Lagoon, Welcome to the NHK and Psycho Pass for series. Paprika, Ninja Scroll, Akira and nearly anything from Studio Ghibli for films.

Other Manhwa i read are Beloved and Thier Story. Both are about love but are not just entirely focused on it. There is one romance manga i actually like for the romance and that is Yameda to Kase-san. It can be fluffy but realistic at the same time i find. Don't really read any non-Yuri Manga/Manwhas to be honest.

Haha, I did not find The Room to be that great as well. Brie Larson got every Best Actress award out there, but the best part of the film was Jacob Tremblay, in my opinion. The actual story it was based on was heart-breaking though.

My anime phase lasted for about a year, it recently stopped. I'll still watch some, but I am not caught up and will probably never be. The first anime I watched is Madoka Magica. Highly recommend, it has that sadness/despair subject in it and yuri undertones, but you've probably heard of it by now. I have watched Psycho Pass, which was great too and written by the same person. Ghost in the Shell, Welcome to the NHK, and Akira are on my list.

I'll check out those manhwa. I have been looking for decent ones since finding WDTFS. There are a whole lot of crappy ones out there, that's for sure.

...
Oooooh, wait, you meant the 2003 The Room right? Whoops, sorry. Did not see that one either.

What are your favorite movies? It is amazing how WDTFS led you to explore more in its genre. That says a lot about the manhwa.

Wow, very sophisticated taste, as expected. I read great things about A Beautiful Mind when I researched movies that depicted mental illnesses. Nice choices.

Lol yeah i was meaning the 2003 film. One of those films so bad that it has become a cult classic.

You'll like Welcome to the NHK for it's depictions of mental disorders (prefer that word over illness).

I will definitely watch that one when I get the chance. Mental disorders have an unfortunate stigma against them. The brain is very... complex. Even the slightest chemical imbalance can have monumental effects. Fascinating though.

Definitely. Progress takes time sadly. Some countries are slower than others, sadly South Korea is one of the slow ones. I'm glad to live in a country where one can get the help needed.

Same here. I am actually going to learn about the treatment options for different mental disorders soon. Right now, I just know the general pathophysiology of some. It is also good to live in a country with a good education system about these disorders.

South Korea is also unfortunately slow on gay acceptance. But they seem to be pioneers of beauty standards, apparently.

Stephen Kings's pseudonym is Richard Bachman not Peter Straub : )

They wrote one of my favorite books together though.

What are you studying?

My knowledge of it mainly comes from having one and some self reading.

Self reading is just as good, given accredited sources. :)

I am studying pharmacy at the moment. So much to memorize...

I am taking an Anti-Infectives course and now when I think about all the partners Sumin has had or any sexually adventurous character... I just hope they used protection... somehow. Probably not. Good thing this is fiction.

Yeah i can imagine you'd have heaps to memorise. I can barely remember the names of all the ssri, snri and ndri's i have read about. So many different types of drug and trade names.

Ha yes you'd hope Sumin used protection.

Yeah, not only the names, but the doses, frequency, contraindications, side effects... the list goes on. Students studying to be doctors have it worse though, I'd imagine.

Whatever Sumin has, Sungji and Seju definitely have. XD Too real? I'll stop.

Sources and statistical evidence are very crucial, for sure.

I stand corrected, esoteric. Their writing skills are closely similar... and wrote a lot together like one of my favorites, "The Talisman" turned into a movie.

That's the very book i was referring too myself haha.

True. I'm lucky as the one I'm on has less chances of side effects though it can affect my liver count. Which means i do have to get regular blood tests.

Whatever Sumin has, Sungji and Seju definitely have. XD Too real? I'll stop.

Haha doesn't bother me at all, i have no illusions about reality.

My roommate is on a new one and even though it helps her a lot, it caused her to oversleep. With any pharmaceutical, the pros should outweigh the cons and monitoring for side effects is a must. Good to hear. :)

Haha doesn't bother me at all, i have no illusions about reality.

Haha, yeah, it is best to keep those separate for full enjoyment of the story.

...
"Illusions about reality" I had to think about that a bit.
