The argument against it was that they only do it because of the virus but since every character we see clearly enjoys it to some degree it is safe to assume they were totally gay before being infected. Also some characters don't shy from doing it just for pleasure and as I mentioned there are at least few outright confirmed couples. Basically at the beginning people considered all characters straight and they only kiss (if only that was it) to use their power, but as you watch it further and further it become clear how gay (at least majority of) those characters are.
The show is totally yuri, but because it never tried to hid that it is aiming for male audience as well and isn't just all about fluff, a lot "yuri purist" shunned it saying it doesn't count and is just male porn trash.
Alright, I think I got the gist of it. Thanks for explaining the nitty-gritty of the whole thing.
The anime doesn't really interest me, but I'm a bit interested in the game just for the fact that it's basically a gayer senran kagura or a senran kagura that commits a bit (or much?) more to its yuri.
Is it also right to assume that since it's the senran kagura creator's project, it's the ps vita game out of the three (Mermaid, Siren, Bhikkhuni) that will get more direct attention focused on it? I assume that developing games is what that creator does best, so this will be the work that he will focus on, and the anime and social game will be relegated to other studios.
