I'm so distracted by rereading Pure Water Adolescence and Collectors today that I'm not sure I'll be keeping up there, but hi to everyone that was around much yesterday lol.

kami-sama

Nami only really get involved when she saw that Sungji could be Sumin's you know "the one/only hope" or she does have a really dark motive for her actions. Nami have a grim face/expression when she saw Seju possibly for the first time. indicating that she knows Seju won't be good for Sumin because of Seju's family.

I think you're assessment here is probably a bit off. Nami has been pursuing and openly trying to stick her nose in Seju's business before she knew Sungji was in the picture. Her first scene is a phone call with Sumin and not wanting to come to the office if Seju wasn't going to be there. She could have just as likely had a grim look on her face because the girl she has feelings for also had a sad look on her face while she, as usual, patiently waits until Sumin shows up.

The second arc will probably end around chapter 54. If it really goes for 80 as said, then 27 chapters lines up nicely for 3 parts.

My question is, does Nami want to end Sumin and Seju's relationship because she likes Seju or because she doesn't think Seju is good for Sumin and wants to end that relationship for good?

Nami obvioussly has feelings for Seju, as well as wants to sleep with her.

I hope that she'll be the vcatalyst to solve everything between Sumin and Seju. But I still don't like them to end up together. Especially now, by the way she's trying to manipulate Seju into sleeping with her and make her fall for her.

Yeah I don't want Seju and Nami to end up together but I think if Nami can help solve things between Seju and Sumin then that is great. Nami has actually become a pretty interesting character lately, I didn't think much of her at the beginning but she's staring to grow on me.

Thank youuuu Newp for the translation, u're the freaking best!

I have mixed feelings about the last chapter development. If Seju is going to sleep with Nami, I don't think it provides any true development on her side. The thing is Seju is always passive and never really going directly to Sumin, just like how she's indirectly "possibly" sabotage Sumin's relationship with the red head.

If she's indeed going to sleep with Nami, she's looking for another way to shake Sumin's relationship, and it makes more sense now because Sungji is innocent and not two-timer, which provides her little room to play a part in their relationship.

So reading the last chapter kinda gives me more reason to believe that Seju does not and never want to move on, ever. She never want to confront Sumin directly because there'll be possibility that they might have closure and end for good. So Seju stands for the 2nd best option, just like her line before "...being in a relationship where we don't need to break up. Use each other etc..."

It might be creepy and quite possesive by nature, but in everything she's still mysterious as hell, she's the character that people would make continuous guess on. we see her naked a lot of times, yet her personality is all wrapped up, I feel kind of cheated lol

Oh how I love her character and appearance sfm.

I'm curious, if Seju does indeed try and go through Sungji to end her relationship with Sumin does anyone think Sungji will be intimidated? Or do you think she could stand up to Seju?

Btw guys, if there's any of you who buy the official english version as well, is it worth it (I mean whether the translation is good or etc.) ? Bcs so far I've only bought the Korean raw, and I saw a few different translation for Ch. 1-30, and some have different context/meaning with another, so I always feel like I might be missing out a certain nuance.

Tried reaching out to Halmeoni before about a few months ago (as she seems to be referred as the best trans), managed to contact her through tumblr, but my email has not been replied. She seemed kind of busy and I am the type that did not want to come out as a bother for someone that does sth voluntarily, so yeah...I just let it go.

So, can someone please advise me whether the official trans is good or worth the buy ? bcs spending money on the same comics but different language kinda ticks my frugal behaviour lol Thanks in advance!

If that happened, I guess, at first, Sungji would beintimidated since Seju could be quite scary sometimes. Then she stood up against Seju. And there would be Sumin by Sungji's side and Nami by Seju's side. It's a two-against-two battle.

I buy both the Korean and the English version, I've noticed that the English versions that are out there seem to be a little different than the version on Lezhin. I prefer to just buy the English version so I know that I'm getting the best translation.

I buy both also. I've complained about this here before, but the official translation has good and bad points. In the official one there's much less confusion about who's speaking and context. You'll get to see all the sfx translated as well which is good. My one very big beef with the official translation is the way they deal with the names. They don't maintain "Team Leader/jangnim", "Sungji-ssi", or any of the other honorifics. They switch everything into Ms. Ju/Seong/etc. Just kills the mood for me.

I guess I'll try to buy few of the official english trans first and compare to see how it goes.

And good to know you're not blinded by Sumin and Sungji fluffiness, those who are that tend to see anything that Seju do as evil

Oh they don't just see Seju as evil, some people out there also love to call people who defends Seju "a bunch of stupid shit". They also call the discussion going on in this thread as a "wall of text with a bunch of misinformed bs and self-contradictions".

I'm okay with people throwing their opinions about a story, if they don't like it then they don't. They hate the character, that's okay. What's not okay is to mock other readers who doesn't share the same opinion as them, that is rude and childish. Especially when they don't have the balls to come out in this thread and say what they want to say, instead they quote and attack a person's post and other readers outside the thread ...which is an act of a coward in my opinion.

I'm sorry for the rant, I was just ticked off by a person's post.

Oh, about Korean culture, I heard that small and V shape faces are really popular there, really? :D

Newp, to bold texts you use ** texts to be bold **. No spaces between the asterisks and the texts.

Oh thanks for the tip! ^ ^
And uh yeah it is haha. A lot of women get work done on their faces to obtain a more slim look or they shave down their jawline for the v look. The belief is that a small face is prettier and more feminine.

Oh wow I'm glad I haven't ever read anyone attacking someone's post. That is really an act of a coward if they refuse to do it on here. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion but people shouldn't be attacked for liking Seju or anything else in the story.

Chapter 4 was the first that really stood out to me. Whatever translation I saw for that before was definitely off. Seemed weird for Seju to say she'd sleep with a high schooler when she was actually saying Sumin has slept with one.

Wew I learn a new thing from you, that Sumin slept with a highschooler. You guys now makes me want to buy the entire eng trans, ah screw money and my conscience lol.

Was it a different forum for a yuri audience? If not then I pretty much completely disregard it. If the majority of the people talking haven't read more than a few yuri manga/manhwas outside of WDTFS, then I give no shits about what they have to say. I get that WDTFS has wider appeal than a lot of yuri classics; I've recommended it to friends that really enjoy it and who are not that enthusiastic about the genre as a whole, but I'd ignore a forum full of my friends' opinions on the story lol...

Ah I see. I was just worried that they'll cut this arc short, but I hope they'll stick to 27 chapters for each arc.

If it's meant for drama then, yes, I think Sungji will be intimidated at first, but will later be able to stand up to Seju.

I wouldn't be ticked off if that was the case. The poster is a member of this forum, and the person quoted Thiaguinho-sama's post, and the discussion they attacked, commented on, is the discussion going on in this thread. That's why it kind of got on my nerves

Martian I was kind of thinking that Sungji would be intimidated, however I am hoping that she will surprise me with a different reaction lol

Time to throw down :P (Yes, that's really shitty. How do you throw someone out of the TeamBlonde ship?) That said, this thread has sort of been blissfully less dramatic than the FF one, so I think anybody that would try to really stir up shit would get taken down a notch pretty quickly.

GraciousLlama
I try to make an effort cuz I only have so many geeky friends that enjoy talking about mangas and animes with. But one of them seriously didn't talk to me for a couple of weeks when I told him that I thought Fate/Stay Night was boring as fuck. Oh well lol.
