tbh the end of the manga it looked pretty canon to me. I can just ignore male love interest what's his face.

I mean they even kissed (hey screw you you can't tell me that chapter wasn't canon)

So it was an actual kiss? Not just for comedy or some other stupid reason like in Rosario+ Vampire for example? Cause all I know is that it have some high subtext and most fans wanted it to end in yuri instead of het, I didn't knew about the kiss so I don't have any idea how it was or the context.

From what I read it never gave me the impression of being more than normal subtext that is obviously nothing serious like we see in other series, but I admit I always found a little strange how apparently a good amount of fans wanted them to end together, so I would be grateful if someone could give me some context if it really was more than subtext or not, I mean the manga.

dude, the chapter they kissed in was just some funny spin-off thing about momiji tricking ichiko into marrying her. It had nothing to do with the story, so no it wasn't "canon" but jeez can't you let me dream? You can look at ayano-chan's link if you really want to see it.

People wanted them together because nobody gave a damn about Keita and him and Ichiko had no chemistry at all. People would rather watch Ichiko and Momiji bicker but at the end of the manga they had a very tearful moment with each other and that's why people ship them. .
