I'd just go with the latter. I can't imagine how you can make up a name to portray the same meaning in English, but that's just me. At worst, you could always just do a TL note explaining it?

(盟望& 明望). I've discovered that together neither one of these are real words. Should I make a name up in English that is similar or just go with Meibou (coed school) and Meibou (girl's school)?　Any good ideas out there?

You could try minor variations in the romanisation (Meiboh vs. Meibou vs. Meybou vs. Meibō vs. Gaybow) or else variations in the full school name (Meibou Senior High School vs. Meibou Academy vs. Meibou Secondary School vs. GayBow: Gay Rainbow Paradise for the Education of Girls).

Why not simply say something like "Wait! This is the wrong Meibou Academy!!" or "Oh, do you mean the other Meibou Academy?" type things...? You don't really need to explain in any more detail than that she mixed up two schools with the same name for the joke to get across.

Well in this case they don't really have quite the same name, so I take it this is selling the character as an airhead. Without knowing context, I thought Cyfer's Senior High School/Academy was the best.

You've all posted some great ideas. Arigatou gozaimasu! If anyone is interested, the context is, Chiho (the airhead) gets her acceptance letter to Meibou and discovers to her horror that it is a girl's school. Two pages later she is reflecting on her mistake of confusing the two schools and lamenting the fact that she will be missing out on a "normal" school life and the prospect of having a first love. Little does she know... At some point I will,probably, ask for some help with various things.Otherwise, my typesetting will be boring to look at. Some input on phrasing for the translation to flow better would be helpful, I'm sure. I love this story and I think readers will like it, too.

I have done some scanlations on my own, about 19 chapters. I don't expect to get the raws for free I can pay for them in bitcoins or I can trade some of my time? (e.g. translation, edits, cleaning/redrawing, typesetting, etc). I can even have it publish it under your group's name but with some conditions. Any help appreciated. My translation is up to scratch I passed the nanodesu translations entrance test with a perfect score.

(note the stuff I have up on batoto is NOT proofread yet. -because I found no one-).

If you're interested in Aikatsu! doujinshi (lewd and non-lewd) and is willing to clean every SFX and redraw the pages, I am interested in your services.

January 31st is Kiriya Aoi's birthday and we plan to release 2 books and 1-2 art books on that day. My main concern right now is we only have one cleaner and I'm not sure he's willing to do 2 books.
