Don't know how Saki can win this.

With repeats you can theoretically do anything, but I did have the narrative suspicion that it wouldn't happen here.
... the only thing is: with the pace of this manga, it's not like in a year or two we'll be back at nationals so she can try again. It'll take decades ^^#

From what I understand, there's also the individuals tournament, which is where she can face off against her sister in order to achieve her goal of their reconciling. The anime had Saki, Nodoka and Mihoko qualify for the individuals.

Unfortunately, if the team doesn't win the nationals, Nodoka may not be able to convince her father to let her stay at Kiyosumi.

They're expected to win the tournament, so I figure Saki will carry them through the final rounds somehow, but I don't see how the author gets us there. If they lose, it's goodbye Nodoka, which would just be pointless. I'm hoping they make it to the end of the individual tournament as well, but the team tournament has all my attention right now. D:

I mean there's also this "national recruitment" arc going in the background so maybe that gets around the Kiyosumi / Nodoka issue, but once again ... just imagine the real-life time scale. If we finish this tournament (to be fair, we are close), then go through all the individual tournament, and then do some sort of national team tournament ... how many years are we talking until any of that is resolved?

... actually need to replace Ritz with AI at some point, probably ;)

Her mahjong power is stored in her boobs so they deflated over the course of the match. Not kidding.

In fact, she basically told us as much all the way back in Volume 17. Kobayashi Ritz up in here with the 7D-Chess foreshadowing.
