covers face. how cute was this last chapter?? Well I guess Ginko remembering the past wasn't cute, and it was almost depressing but then the ending just twisted my heart around and I was happy again..

Ikuhara (and now Morishima) tend to do that. Rip your heart out and then make you smile the next minute I mean.

It's a nice direction for Morishima--collaboration can shake a person out of complacency sometimes. Some of her early stories had a sort of melancholy, wistful feeling to them but in recent years her stuff has been so dashed cheerful all the time that there's barely a hint of conflict. Mind you, that in itself can be refreshing, since a lot of yuri is pretty angsty. And I think it's partly deliberate--Morishima's stories seem to go out of their way to say "No, yuri love isn't star-crossed, or tragic, it doesn't end after graduation, it doesn't have to be full of woe and worries about social pressure, girls can love just as happy as anyone else or more so!!!"
Rather than paint a world of struggle, of prejudice that same-sex lovers are fighting against (as in the symbolism people have been talking about in the anime, for instance), she usually assumes victory, paints the world we are hopefully heading towards. I think there's a lot of value to that approach.

But a bit of variation is nice.

Don't know much about the author and I'm very new to Yuri, from 'known' stuff I can only remember watching this, Ano Hana (but I dropd because the anime made me think the two girls touching each other naked in the opening would be together but the story is not about that ¬¬') and the Hentai: 'Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo: Anata to Koibito Tsunagi'.

I understood the overall message and pretty much everything in the story.
I just can't find an explanation to death in the anime, both: figuratively and literally.

It's pretty counter productive to want to pass a message like this through your anime but 'encrypt' it behind so much symbolism.
And IF the person can understand the symbolism it still comes off as pretty pretentious...
Even though I kinda liked it: 5/10.

The story itself and the message, are fairly simple and could've reached much more people if it were a bit less symbolic.

How dos the manga compare in actually explaining stuff?
And does it do anything different? Characters, story, etc.

Welcome in the wonderful world of yuri!

Sidenote: If you're speaking of "Aoi Hana", in fact the story is about those two girls, it just that it's a very, very slow paced story. And anyway, the story in the anime is far from complete; it needs at least 2 or 3 seasons, but the 1st season didn't sell well enough, so no second season… TT

And yeah, saw now that it has many volumes and only ended in 2014 ^^
I was rooting for those 2 to be together since the beggining of the anime!! lol Damn, misleading opening! >.<
Then they started going out with other people and I didn't rly liked that and wasn't seeing progress being made for them to be together so I stopped watching.
Later I discover that the story is about them, as friends, dealing with relationships of their own.
So I dropped it completely.

You seem to know a lot about Yuri, could you recommend me some anime | manga | visual novel | hentai?

(If yes, can we use MyAnimeList so we don't flood here, and you can have more info about my tastes. I have the same name there.)

Haha! That "Shabba da doo!" scene! And the plot thickens. Sumika showed up. Also, Yurika ;_;

When it isn't delivered, it could become hatred.

When it isn't delivered, it could become hatred.

Hatred, resentment, scorn. Basically positive turns negative is the feelings persist but aren't delivered.

I'm anxious to see what the backstory is. Both of the main girl characters have deceased mothers and their principal is the only woman left of their mother's friend group. I'm guessing and extrapolating this: Ginko's mother is said to have killed and ate Kureha's mother. From the few things we've seen, the principal also was in love with one of them and her loves have both perished. The principal also notes how both of them went and married men despite their lesbian feelings. Given how Ginko's mom is a "criminal bear" and Kureha's mom is a "bear hunter", I'm going to extrapolate to say Kureha's mom loved Ginko's mom, and while she loved her back, Ginko's mom betrayed her love and trust, and she killed her. After which, I'm going to guess she raised Ginko a bit more until she went crazy from the fact she was betrayed and then killed her true love. Probably committed suicide.

which ended up happening to Yurika in the anime. I like how in the manga she's not an actual bad guy.

Probably committed suicide.

Ginko's mom is very much alive (since she's been in previous chapters and whatnot)
Just wait til you see her in a few chapters time ;)

Need more chapters....... where in previous chapters though. I've only seen her in previous flashbacks into backstory.

I just marathoned the anime and caught up to the manga. It's crazy seeing the contrast between Ikuhara and Morishima. It's like they're both fanfics of each other, yeesh.

And nice credit page (NSFW!)

Ginko and Lulu are doing exactly the same thing like Ginko's mama and Yurika.

It looks like many of the reply/comment/whatever the hell this is about the author. is it really common here?

And please for the love of god, just make this manga based on anime but with some more twist (I mean the same basic on the ending) Because after seeing Ginko remembering her past and like SUDDEN change on attitude, i lost faith on her.

Still, waiting for the end if it's different from anime.
