It’s unsettling because the artist seems to have gone for semi realism. Anime is heavily stylized so the more you attempt to add realistic proportions/features, the creepier it’ll look. A better approach is starting with realism then modifying it to achieve the semi realistic look. This is valuable knowledge I learned from a skilled artist <3
