Well, the way I see it, there's tons of scanlation groups out there in need of translators. Instead of spending time on the minutiae of other peoples' translations, it makes a lot more sense to help out on untranslated things. Obviously not everyone has the time or inclination, and there's times when there's a mistranslation to point out that actually matters, but, well, you're getting all this out of the kindness of other peoples' hearts, if there's no real problem, nitpicking seems kind of silly.

But this is all totally off-topic anyways. I'd rather talk about the gay music nerds.

They sure are gay, aren't they? I really hope Jerkface ends up getting interested in the music or something instead of just "Hey, here's a guy just being in the way of the lesbians. Don't worry, he'll become irrelevant in a few chapters." You know, the kind of throw-away, single-faceted character who only exists to create drama or move the story along.

Best case scenario: Jerkface forgets about Aya and starts listening to the same music in an effort to get closer to the hot guy at the record store (because him going "oh shit I'm gay???" would be the best). He develops a genuine interest in the music and becomes music buddies with Aya and the mystery man. Eventually hot record store guy is revealed to be Mitsuki, Aya's like "oh shit, they were a girl?! Well, that's fine by me" and Jerkface is like "oh, guess I never had a chance to begin with". They all continue being music buddies and nobody is alone with their taste in music.

To be clear, I absolutely agree it's better to stay on-topic rather than going on giant tangents about real-world morality when discussing fiction. I also don't consider calling out a real-world person's display of blatant biphobia or other bigotry to be a tangent about morality, nor do I consider it worth debating. I didnt think it would start an argument and I regret the fact that it did. I suppose that unfortunate lack of foresight on my part really just goes to show that I'm not a master debater.

I don't want it to be a case of "they were both lesbians all along!" We have stories like that already, and there will be more. Genuine polyamorous/bisexual stories are a lot more rare by comparison.

Here's a possibly controversial take that people in the comment section seem to be looking for:

Maybe those stories are more rare because they more rarely work out in reality? Most people who say they're bisexual are often in a pretty darn straight looking relationship, and can't be bothered to foster a long-term poly one. They usually just want a fling. And being in a straight relationship is easier to come by then a gay one.

I'm a bit lost when it comes to the music part of this, but eh. At least I know of the bands being talked about.

I am beginning to feel bad for Aya right about now. Sure I am here for here yuri and sure she isnt entitled to anything but my poor girl is clearly into the dude with style that works in the music shop. I dont know what her eventual reaction to reveal will be but I feel sad for Aya cuz she fell for a dude that doesnt exist.

No need to feel bad for Aya, Mitsuki is clearly more "herself" at the store than she is at school. Remember the bit about the black nail polish? And Mitsuki's character profile makes it pretty clear to me she feels more comfortable with the androgynous look she has outside of school. Aya definitely fell for the "real" Mitsuki, and evidently she doesn't have much of an interest in boys (as per her profile), so I imagine we're not gonna get too much drama if/when the truth is revealed. This has primarily been a comedy, after all.

Personally I'm hoping for a "Wait, you're a girl?...huh...wanna go out?" kind of situation.

I guess that still counts as falling for a "dude" that doesn't exist though.

I absolutely adore protagonists like Luoluo, they're so much fun. There's something about watching selfish, scummy, dirtbag characters that's just immensely enjoyable.
