I'm pretty sure most of them only fly when they're actively putting power into flight. If she were caught of guard, she might not remember to fly until she hit the bottom. It's not like there's be much time between starting to fall and hitting the spikes.

The thing that really gets me is they had tons of opportunities to take really interesting paths and they just didn't. Like there was a subplot of Tatsuki gaining spiritual awareness via shear brute force and martial arts/willpower, in her physical body, with out something special going on with her. That has all sorts of crazy potential, especially with her connection to Orihime... and she was completely forgotten as a character after the time skip... wonderful.

Just a clarification: It was Caliburn and, later, Avalon that stopped Arthur's aging, not Excalibur.

This is another manga where I feel kinda sorry for the main character. She's admitted that there are better people on the team then her, but they keep putting her in, instead of them, because she's tall.That would not be pleasant, for either her or those people.

I know it's supposed to be cure and trope based, but I can't stand Ayano. She would not make for a good friend in the slightest.

Think about it, by all appearances, Yuki is a shy introvert with some serious social issues. Yes, she wants to make some friends, but she also doesn't want to be the center of attention and she really does need help working on her issues.

What does Ayano do? Shove her into a front line job at a restaurant, with no warning, when she very easily could have given her a much less prominent role.. Yeah, it was played for laughs, but even then it ended in near disaster.

Similarly, there's the whole glasses thing. Again, it's a trope, "You're really beautiful behind those glasses" and it was the boy who tried to take them, but still.

Most of what Ayano to do seems to be like that. There's definitely a level of concern for Yuki, but it's very haphazard and mostly a mater of considering what Ayano wants (a cute friend and making said friend cuter, in her opinion) or things that would appeal to Ayano (working the front of the cafee, with no real instruction given).

If I understand this correctly, there are now four chapters in this series? Is there a reason they aren't linked as a series, so you can go between them, rather than having to try and figure out which ones actually belong from the author's page?

Is there a name for the postulate that the more lighthearted a series is, the darker fans will try it make it and vice-versa?

To be fair, Overwatch can be pretty dark. I mean, you have Tracer who's a stray bullet from becoming a ghost lost to time, D.Va who is a child soldier, Reaper who's basically a tormented undead, and everything to do with Widowmaker. Widowmaker alone probably pushes it darker than most works.

For some reason, it looks like Mercy's about to do something really mischievous/troublesome and Pharah has an "Oh no, not this again" look.

To be fair, a rich girl who's been plying her, a poor girl, with all sorts of good just demanded her body, after ruling out being in love with her. That could easily be taken as propositioning her like a whore. I could see someone getting a little offended by that.

Aaaand I bestow upon Shiro the title of "dumbest girls of the month", good idea to run away when the artificial heart of your beloved is running out of battery. Chasing Shiro wasn't very bright from Kuro either.

Would be a pretty good piece of criticism if they didn't show that she had an extra battery on her. Shiro probably thought that Kuro would have at least stopped to change her battery and use it to escape the situation, didn't account for Kuro to risk her life to find the truth.

I think the bigger piece of criticism might be that she didn't have any inkling that the girl who LITERALLY GAVE UP HER HEART to save her might have some feelings for her.
