BAH GAWD
IT'S THE HEAD PRIEST WITH AN APC

I think what these two (the head priest and head of "Babylon") really need is a mediator.

The priest mentioned the refugees earning respect and autonomy and the spymaster thinks they need allies with money and political influence, which aren't opposed goals in and of themselves. Their main contention seems to be the time taken achieving those things. Both of them are right about a lot of stuff, and they would both be better off working together to figure out how to make things happen than at odds with one another, which is hopefully the direction things will go as the relationships between our protags and secondary protags develop.

From what Sena said, I wouldn't be surprised if her breakup with Makino's sister was over having to pretend to be a man in front of their family and/or her sister's shame in being unable to introduce Sena as a woman/girlfriend.

I ended up being wrong with this prediction before, but it did still come back to bite Makino. :<

wait are we sure it got axed? like is there a source on that? would certainly explain this godawful ending but it sucks that a series that was so good up to this point had to rush like this

Not sure, but I think the magazine it was printed in is going out of business. That could potentially speed up an ending, but someone can correct me on that. I don't fully remember.

I haven't read anything about Comic Rex going out of business. My thoughts were just that they run a lot of ecchi manga so a more chaste yuri manga like this one wouldn't be as popular there.

pg 113; even in a totally different genre and with her face partially obscured, Mai still has the effortless rizz. I hope we'll get to read this one for a while to come after the sudden end to Be Careful, Onee-san.

While I was right in thinking that the end wouldn't be totally satisfying with so little time to work with, what we got wasn't awful by any means. This manga was super cute and wholesome despite the premise; maybe that wholesomeness is what actually doomed it considering the usual kinds of age gap that get popular.

Well, here's hoping that the author will revive the web version and give us plenty of their adventures after the serialization ends. May even be able to do things there that would not have been doable in a magazine.

I hope we'll get a little closure for some of the other characters too, like the teacher who ended up rejected. I want to see the kids grow up in a time skip sorta thing too, moistly cuz I worry about Yuki :V

I was worried after the sudden "childhood promise reminder" in ch31 which felt like a preamble for a super rushed "development"/cop out due to the axe, wasting all build-up accumulated from ch01.
Madoka Akbar, I really should have had more trust in the author, he didn't cop out, the childhood promise only serves as a nudge for Tae to force her unsorted accumulated feelings into shape, and the story ending on a promise to wait until Mai is old enough (with Mai's volition) is okay enough. That is the only proper ending for this series, considering all the things that had happened so far.

My thoughts exactly; I'm glad the teacher ended up being a push for Tae instead of an easy escape.

I didn't like Hiroko for a lot of the story, though getting her background makes her actions seem more sensible. But I also recognize that I'm just the sort of person who hates lies and liars, even "white" lies. So Ayaka forcing Hiroko to drag the truth out into the light is a plus in my book.

I think it's clear that the assassination agency (government?) knows who Rose is, but it seems like Rose only knows (or assumes) the church is after her and not them as well.

Good to know that the youths of today won't lose the ability to figure out if they're trans or otherwise NB by reading genderbend doujinshi, just like in the good old days.

What was her name...? Reina. I'll try to remember it.

Damn, it's ending? That stinks; even though I really like this one it's hard to imagine that it'll get a satisfactory ending with no real time time set it up.

I've noticed this from other manga as well, but do japanese women have a choice in staying to work after they get married or are they discouraged? At the rate the world is getting in now, a single earner in a family household is not enough. Also, japan has a high divorce rate so this is crippling for the woman just in case.

The assumption is that someone getting married is also going to start having and raising kids, which is a reason for women to quit their full-time jobs. Whether those assumptions are true or not, it's the line of thinking that leads to women getting passed over for raises and promotions at these kinds of companies; "she's only going to be useful to us until she finds a man." This just adds another layer of pressure to Hiroko's work life...

While I did like the timeliness of the setting, I couldn't stop wondering why didn't they exchange phone numbers at some point in the first part of the story!

Yeah, it seems there's some pages repeated at the start of the chapter.

I'm glad we're gonna get a few chapters of them as a couple before it ends.

More likely scenario is Mai will tell/ask Tae about romance and then Tae will avoid Mai after realizing how her first love will never come to pass because of the age gap. Maybe throw in some guilt about keeping Mai from people her own age as well.... then Mai will chase after Tae!

I feel like Mai will give the boy a "let me think about it", go through a short arc of figuring out her feelings (possibly by asking Tae about love, giving us flustered Tae comedy), then turn him down when she realizes she loves Tae.

Little boy, youre a brave soul and it doesnt matter who shits on you, you were right on being honest

Brace yourself and prepare to take the hit

He'd better clench those teeth

What was only subtext last chapter is confirmed now, so it's time to see how much more Mashiro has to suffer before Makino can pick up on it. I don't feel like an actual suicide end is in the cards but with the tone changes we've already seen, I wouldn't take it off the table entirely...

While this kind of language is normally too much for me, I do appreciate seeing the black haired girl's face in the second to last page. She's probably just barely holding herself back from going down on her sub gf, so I do think that rather than actually-abusive, she's just playing along with her bottom's kinks.

This sure is a dangerous tag combination for the average Dynasty comment section, glad things are mostly civil here though.

I checked some JP sites and this doujin seems to have "crossdressing" and "shota" tags, unsure if the yuri tag is really right for this one.

Other sites don't really take gender identity into account and just categorise things with "what has what junk", which naturally doesn't fly with the Dynasty staff.

This happens because the Japanese government - and a lot of the people, as an extension - don't officially recognize gender reassignment until bottom surgery has happened. 3D AV with trans actresses is tagged with both "Transgender" and "Crossdressing", even if the actress is clearly transitioning with HRT and has breasts and stuff.

If Mai hasn't already stolen your heart, Ch26 Pg16 would do anyone in.

Bro....she's only at least eleven. Maybe twelve.

11 as of chapter 9.

Ch9 mentions a change in seasons and Ch8 was the summer camp event, so Mai's birthday is at the start of fall, quite a ways away from Christmas/New Year's. She'll be 11 for a while yet.

Edit: Though I've heard least Tokyo as of last month now acknowledges gay couples with a...certificate of being a couple or something? Apologies I'm probably remembering the exact details wrong. Basically there's progress, but definitely a lot of work to be done still.

It's a thing that some specific municipalities are doing to afford same-sex couples some rights that normal married couples have, like hospital visitation rights or rules having to do with renting/mortgages. It's still not the same as nationally-recognized legal marriage though.

Yeah, that was a super cute page =w=b

I'm pretty sure I've said it before but I'll say it again; this super exaggerated artstyle is great for such a smutty story. Thanks for bringing us the last long chapter!

One of the things I love about this picture is that instead of focusing on Pomu, Selen is confidently (or smugly) looking at the camera/viewer instead.
