Didn’t this have the yuri tag at first? Maybe I’m remembering wrong though.

I think it’s interesting and a bit funny that Yuni makes a bunch of manga about cheating and/or toxic relationships even though she’s in a happy relationship. I’ve started looking for yuri on MangaDex recently, and I found an autobiographical manga called Manga de Tsudzuru Yuri na Hibi on that site. Apparently, Yuni is one of the writers along with her partner. Someone in the comments said they’re still together after 11 years, so it’s interesting she’s going with this dark stuff.

I wonder if she had to deal with this kind of stuff in the past… or she could just like writing about it. I guess “write what you know” doesn’t always apply.

Her stuff isn't ordinarily dark, though. I feel like she always thinks it's all cute and fun. To me, it seems like because she enjoys office worker yuri (which she says a lot), that naturally implies some unique situations and relationship dynamics to have fun with.

That’s a good point. They are surprisingly light when you take the subject matter into consideration. I definitely appreciate her office worker yuri since it’s a breath of fresh air compared to all he generic (but mostly still good) yuri out there.

Is this considered a harem now? There’s Maou, Seb, and Sally, though Sally is obviously not even a contender at this point. I guess any other demons and maybe angels that show up will fall for Yashiro too.

You know, this is an irrelevant question, but did Rei have any other friends other than Ami and her friends? I’d assume she left the group if she was ignoring Ami for 3 months, so she was just completely isolated? I don’t completely remember the whole story though, so I’m sure she must’ve at least talked to some other people.

It seems this is ending soon, but it was a pretty good run. It’s a very intriguing ending for sure. I don’t know why, but I’ve been waiting for Watari to talk to her ex-girlfriend at some point to work things out, but I guess that ain’t happening at this point.

somewhere there's a translation of a third of chapter 1 floating around

Oh okay, I’ll look for that translation, and I’ll be waiting for more too. Arai Suniko makes some good stuff.

Also, this extra reminded me of poor Mao. I was thinking before that Aya had another friend that just vanished, and here she is. I don’t remember the last time she showed up; well, even if she actually showed up more recently than I thought, she’s definitely not as important as Chizuru.

There have been other portrayals of bisexual women in stories like Brides of Iberis (which I find quite problematic), and it has a somewhat similar plot to We Are Addicted to Her. There's also Run Away With Me, Girl, and A Lying Bride's Case for Same-Sex Marriage.

run away with me girl is so good

and A lying Bride's Case for Same Sex Marriage for licensed, with the first volume, which had already been scanlated, announced to release in October this year, so who knows when we'll be able to read a (translated) end to the story

Also, I haven't read much of We Are Addicted to Her yet. Did it finish? If so, who does the one with brown hair end up with? :)

that ones finished, yes
now someone just needs to translate it (to a language I can read)

What is We Are Addicted to Her? I looked it up, but I can only find that manhua, Addicted to Her, and a Chinese TV show.

Also, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Who are the three Tarous anyway? Since it’s tagged as alternate reality and gender bender, I assume this is a parody of something, but what is it parodying?

Did you read the notes page at the end?

Wow, I’m dumb. I completely missed that notes page somehow. Thanks! It makes more sense now lol

Yeah, that’s true. I assumed it was possible in this case though because Mirai said she used a gene bank or whatever so I just chalked it up to future technology. You’re the uploader though so it makes sense that she’s not their daughter. Thanks for translating this and all by the way; I’m loving this so far.

I'm just the editor, and it's not like my interpretation is always the correct one.

I thought it was some of that innovative future gene bank technology Mirai mentioned that let this happen, but that makes sense since it doesn’t make sense at all even with some future technology.

You seem to be misunderstanding what we said, it's very much implied that Nozomi is genetically both Kako and Mirai's child, but it's not possible in our time with our current technology.

Kako doesn't believe Nozomi is her child, and her mother doesn't know that Mirai is from the future.
As an example if I said I spent my summer vacation on Mars, no one would believe me either.

Ah my bad, I see what you’re saying now. My bad for misunderstanding before, but that makes sense. Also, thanks for being the editor for this series then!

I’m a bit confused how the mom is taking this information so well since Mirai actually told her the truth. Did they just pass it off as a joke and go with that excuse they came up with? It seems like that to me since she doesn’t think Nozomi is actually Kako’s daughter but I’m not sure.

Is this the part where I have to remind you that two cis girls can't have a baby together?
Even Kako herself doesn't believe that Nozomi is her daughter.

Yeah, that’s true. I assumed it was possible in this case though because Mirai said she used a gene bank or whatever so I just chalked it up to future technology. Yea, the implications of her words about how Mirai has gone through ' a lot' at her age is meant to be that they told her the actual excuse off screen and she accepted it because, well

This. Yea there are ways for Cis Homosexual couples to have kids, but they all require at least one third party and they would leave the child biologically as either Mirai or Kako's. Not both of theirs like Mirai claimed.

I thought it was some of that innovative future gene bank technology Mirai mentioned that let this happen, but that makes sense since it doesn’t make sense at all even with some future technology.

I remember that the daughter (I forgot her name) was calling out Chloe’s name at some point after Mia left the room (I forgot what chapter that was in), so was that acknowledged at all? Was it just cause of the sensory sharing stuff? Also, I guess Sophia knows Mia is with her daughter now and apparently doesn’t care at all… anyway, that was a pretty unique and good series. Glad it ended the way it did.

hmmm, so romance probably wouldnt be fitting for this one. it seems more like a budding friendship between two (one's slightly bashful, the other's entirely stoic) teenage girls. even going by the undertones (best friends also talk daily and seek each other out in a crowd of people), it doesnt seem like this will develop into some sort romance, sadly.

great way to end the volume, im definitely interested in buying the next one and continuing to support the author.

I'm thinking the love hasn't bloomed yet, but we'll see.

An awful lot of blushing just for “budding friendship,” I’d say.

Sakura blushes quite a bit, even when she's conversing with people she's hardly familiar with, like Hinata, for instance. and i feel Takamine blushes when she gets embarrassed, which happens quite often as her relationship with Sakura has revealed, even to herself, that she's inexperienced with many social cues and interactions, which isn't hard to believe coming from teenagers, because again, they're teenagers.

if it weren't for the one-shot (where Takamine lit up like a christmas tree), id write this off as another 'best friend' manga. im currently 60 chapters in into another manwha that has pretty much same vibes as this but there is no indication of romance, just an insane amount of closeness and lots of blushing. if you're curious what manwha im referring to, it's Her Mountain, Her Ocean.

I am happy to report that the manhwa you're reading gets a stamp of approval from the Yuri gods. As someone who's read the novel, albeit through an unreliable probably MTL translation, the ending is definitely romantic and super sweet! Warning, don't read the last like 3 extras tho.

That manhwa looks interesting. I’ll likely start reading it, but I’m curious about the last 3 extras. What’s wrong with them? I’m okay with being spoiled in this one specific case. Thanks!

The love… shape keeps getting bigger. So, Yuzuru is in love with Mao and Mao is in love with Nachi. I think Nachi is in the first story as well as the girl she has a crush on whose name is never mentioned as far as I remember. And then I think Mizusawa is Karen from the third story. The girl she was with in the first story is probably the girl that broke up with her in the third one. Karen has a crush on Ito. I guess it’s a love heptagon at this point. I’m not sure how you’re supposed to factor in ex-girlfriends, but it could potentially be a love octagon or even bigger since Karen went out with a few other girls.

The second story seems to be pretty disconnected though Nachi is in it. Cheating and Atonement is also pretty disconnected, though there’s still more two one-shots left so I presume the girl Riri is doing friendly skinship with will show up. On a side note, that one-shot is definitely a big tonal shift; the image the author made with those characters makes it look less disturbing though. But, yeah, I’ll wonder if they’ll add anyone else to this chain in the last two stories.

So, this theory is purely based on hairstyles so it doesn't hold up if we assume the characters change their hair... But I think that:
1. The girl that rejected(?) Karen in story 3 might be Yuzuru (who said she likes someone else, which would make sense since she likes Mao)... The main piece of evidence for this being that their hairstyles are very similar.
2. I think the girl who was kissing Mizusawa might have been Kyouko from the cram school story (why do I believe that? Literally just because they both have the same ponytail. I have no other proof.)
3. I have no idea how Cheating and Atonement ties in with everything else

Let me know what y'all think, I may just be completely off with this lol

  1. Oh yeah, they could definitely be the same person! I had assumed that were dating for a little bit until she broke up with Karen since I thought the girl in the first story and the girl in the third story were the same, but that looks more like a rejection than a breakup and her hairstyle matches Yuzuru's like you said.

  2. True, they do look similar. It seems that Kyouko has a thing for Nanami, but that could've been another instance of Karen getting heartbroken if they went out for a little bit and broke up pretty quickly.

  3. Yeah, that one's a bit weird, but I guess there's still some time to tie them into the story.

I was overthinking this when I read this and thought that Adachi was hallucinating or something... I thought it seemed weird that Shimamura wasn't all that excited at first and then randomly said "I love you" right after Adachi started getting disappointed. Then Shimamura apparently didn't remember she said that and was embarrassed to say that even though she supposedly said it earlier that day. I guess she just could've been so tired she forgot though, or she could've just been teasing Adachi. It does seem like Shimamura was genuinely confused though, so I guess she was just tired.

I also thought it was weird that Adachi thought someone else was laughing and not her, but I guess she's just not used to laughing like that and surprised herself. That probably makes more sense based on the flashback right after that scene.

I forgot to ask about this last chapter, so is Mahiro supposed to be blurred out a bit on the title page of her After-Story since she said she’s not a good girl or something? If it is a mistake, I don’t mind at all, though I’m just curious if it’s symbolism or anything. Anyway, I didn’t realize that Suwa was the same girl Taga was staring at until this chapter spelled it out. I’m liking all these little connections between all the stories. I guess Karen and the school president will be the focus of a chapter in the next volume, and so is the couple from “Going to a love hotel with her childhood friend.” I randomly decided to read that after looking through what else Kawauchi made, and a comment said that story’s gonna continue in Voljme 2, so that’s cool.

Also, MangaDex says this is award-winning and I had no idea. I’m surprised, but it’s well-deserved since this is actually very well-written. What did it win?

It won a global award in the "Tsugi manga" contest 2024

Thanks! If they ever do make an anime which I guess is unlikely, I think that kind of art style would be unique. I’m sure it’s just a PV kind of thing though I haven’t watched many of them. I see there’s a Contract Sisters video too, so that seems interesting.

As for the award, I think I remember that now. I don’t remember if I voted for Snow Thaw, Convenient Semi-Friend, or this though or if I used a Japanese or English account. It’s too bad they weren’t able to get into the Top 20, but I guess that’s to be expected and at least this manga got something.

I’m glad I’m finally able to catch up! I read a bit of Chapter 16 by accident a long time ago, so I knew about the whole finding out thing, but I’ve been waiting to see how that happened since then. I don’t want to sound ungrateful though. I didn’t want to deal with MTL bullshit, so thank you to the scanlators for translating this. I just checked MangaDex now, and it’s great you were able to make the MTL folks apparently stop translating this. Thank you for the great translation (I think the scanlators are here, but I’d feel a bit silly if they’re not)!

Anyway, I was not expecting them to actually get back together, and I was definitely not expecting Fuuko’s mama thing. I didn’t like Fuuko much before although I guess I kind of felt bad for her cause she was sad over her crush… but now, I really feel bad for her. And yeah, I thought Yuni was very selfish but her behavior was kinda justified since Nanase was a bad girlfriend that was neglecting her. Now, she’s taking Fuuko’s place as the worst person in this series by far.

In my opinion, Fuuko’s still the 2nd worst even though she’s pretty pitiful, Nanase’s the 3rd worst, and Yuki’s just amazing. I feel bad for her now that both Yuni and her best friend are mistreating her, but it seems the author’s hinting that she’ll be with Nanase in the end. That’s definitely the ideal situation, and then I guess Yuni and Fuuko are more fitting for each other and will probably be happier as a couple than Yuni and Nanase would be.

So im guessing the older sister is Meguru, and going by her reaction to the commercial, she hates all forms of physical intercourse. She wasn't actually calling Azuki herself disgusting for liking girls.

I wonder if Meguru was romantically attracted to Azuki, but Meguru got disgusted since she thought Azuki was just sexually attracted to her which made her hate lust and apparently people in general. Frankly, it seems that Azuki actually was since she’s making figures of just Meguru’s body now and forgot her face. I think it’d be interesting if Meguru was also obsessing over Azuki all this time in her own “disgusting” way, but this theory is probably wrong anyway.

I’m also wondering how Remu will react when she finds out that she was attracted to a figure of her stepsister.

Feels like a super abbreviated version of another manga I read once. Basically, the femme is jealous (and maybe a little resentful) of the butch's semi-successful manga and upset at her own lack of success.

Maybe even a little implication that she's growing up now and that she always expected this to have to happen.

What’s the other manga you read called? It seems pretty interesting.
