So, that prediction I made after the last chapter turned out to be WAY off the mark, but oh well. Gonna be honest, Aki was the last character I expected to help progress the plot after last chapter, but I think it fit pretty well. Now adjust wonder how the mean girls are going to fit into all of this. I’m hopeful they’ll manage to redeem themselves by helping to push the main couple back together, but...

Oh boy, time to finally tackle Kurokawa’s whole inferiority complex thing. It’s about time that finally got brought into the light. Also, I get why some folks are calling Kurokawa’s whole but this chapter a bit over dramatic, but honestly, I thought it was a pretty fitting depiction of a grade-a mental breakdown.

oh no oh no oh no author, im begging you, please dont make horny jokes with the middle schooler. Please do not

Considering her idea of conflict resolution is hide-and-seek, I’m going to guess Hikaru is going to be used for jokes about childhood crushes and general innocence (especially is regards to the horny antics of just about every other character here). I doubt she was introduced just for the author to make the exact same types of jokes every other character has already been making.

So this is basically a harem manga in disguise

At this point it’s about as disguised as a pine tree in a desert and I am here for it.

That thing was too big to be called a sword.
Too big, too thick, too heavy, and too rough, it was more like a large hunk of iron.

If it has a long metal blade and cuts, it’s a sword. Not a good sword, mind, but a sword,

i think those girls mustve seen them kiss. i imagine that will be the next conflict. either way really cute chapter.

I’m actually not too sure the conflict will be coming from them next. Someone else on the last page brought up that we still haven’t rectified Kurokawa’s princess obsession, which’ll likely serve as something of an obstacle towards her actually accepting Fujishiro’s feelings and coming to grips with her own barely hidden feelings (in other words, she’s still in “I’m not worthy” mode). On top of that, I believe that it was previously mentioned that one of Fujishiro’s ex-friends (I forget their names, so sorry if this sounds confusing) had a bit of a crush on/idolized her before she starting changing, and there were some hints that the other friend had some feelings for that girl, so I could possibly see them actually understanding Fujishiro’s feelings in this situation.

I can’t be sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the next arc goes something like: Kurokawa gets flustered/nervous/confused and runs away, leaving a heartbroken Fujishiro alone in the rain. This gives the remaining members of Fujishiro’s old clique a chance to comfort her (if only out of pity) and begins the process of rekindling their bond. While this is going on (and no doubt heavily mired in awkwardness) Kurokawa will be forced to look both to her inner depths and her own (notably gay) friends to help her come to grips with her own feelings and flaws in time to finish out the volume. Best case scenario: our two useless princesses finally shrug off their uselessness and bang, the developing side couple(s) hook up, and the two rival cliques finally come to peace with each other and unite to form a nerd-gyaru supergroup that could conceivably become called the Gay Kids.

That's not how you're supposed to use medicine! That's a dangerous amount of medicine they're rubbing into themselves!

I’m not terribly knowledgeable about Japanese pharmaceutics, but considering they were able to pick up the “medicine” on their way home, I doubt it was anything too extreme. At most it was probably an over-the-counter anti-bacterial cream, and at least it was just some fancy body cream. Overuse probably poses a bigger threat to their wallets than it does to their health.

Anyways, speaking as someone who has had to deal with chafed nipples before, I was definitely wincing once things started heating up. Just, oof.

Was still really good, though.

Just pop put a kid or too and go back to Vivi, who as an immortal creature of the night can wait.

Shit they could just do artificial insemination and she could raise the kids with Vivi

these “last of the species” deals are always handled so obtusely, especially in modern settings

Come to think of it, it’s actually more efficient that way. Let Rumilu go out, find a nice lady/gentleman from a different species. He and Kara have a bunch of children. Vivi and Kara raise some on their own, and Rumilu and his partner raise the others (possibly alongside some half-Titans). Logically, two couples should be capable of properly caring for and raising more children than one would, meaning the species recovers at an even quicker pace.

I guess Titans are too traditional to comprehend having children out of wedlock (because their traditions seem to be working out so well for them right now). Either that or the dude also wants to marry Kara so that she returns to the Titan world and possibly brings along her harvest goddess blessings.

So, question. Considering Yuri Cupid(tm) is probably invisible in this scene, did everyone in that room just witnessed a bow materialize out of thin air to suddenly strike that dude across the face, or does it just look like the air OHKO’d him? I ask because I can’t figure out which image is funnier.

If you look at it one way, a logical explanation for bringing Eve back as a child is because that’s how the MC pictured her in the first place (they first met when the MC was that age, and that’s how the MC always viewed her as behaving). In reality, it’s probably just because Itou Hachi is an unrepentant lolicon, and needed to replace the loli that grew up. Its whatever, doesn’t really damage the story for me.

Also scrapping androids that have their own free will (or at least something close to that)...Pretty sure that would be illegal.

In fairness the the scrappers (and possibly the mother but probably not), every other robot at that time seems to have just been a mindless servitor designed for particular task, so it wouldn’t be too hard to conclude that this one was just designed to imitate human behavior without really having a consciousness/will of its own. Plus, she was probably put into sleep mode to begin with.

I do have to point out their shoddy workmanship, though. Who just leaves random robot body parts and half-scrapped littered around the work floor? That’s both dangerous and a dramatic waste of both time and resources. Tsks disapprovingly.

People being unreasonably angry at manga characters: the thread.

You get money for the most vitriolic self-righteous moralistic condemnation of the fictional behavior of imaginary people.

I mean, you must, right? Has to be a pretty tidy sum, too . . .

Hell, I’d do it for a couple bucks. Getting to rant the day’s stresses away AND being able to afford a bottle of iced tea? Sounds like a win to me.

Am I dumb or was this posted here before. I feel like I read this chapter already and now I'm confused.

It was on Mangadex for a while before now, so maybe you saw it there?

Huh. Didn't expect that see a squirter in this manga

Neither did I. Honestly, it surprised the hell outta me and left me wondering if the author intended it as a "reveal" scene or something...

I also wonder about the age of these two. The clues are kind of all over the place.

Well, they’re old enough to have saved enough money to afford an apartment (furniture pending) and not much beyond that (hence the bargain rings) but young enough to still be living with their parents and not have too many responsibilities to prevent them from dropping everything and eloping to another village. I’d guess that they’re maybe college-aged (late teens-early 20s).

Cute.

Not sure why this is the yuri couple that is depicted the most. Mercedes / Annette and Catherine / Shamir seemed a lot more explicit in their bonding scenes (despite some mild censoring in the English version of Mercedes / Annette's A rank conversation).

Spoiler warning now because I forget how to apply black bars on this site.

I’m not sure which sites you’re on but from what I’ve seen this pairing is the third most depicted yuri couple at best, behind Edelgard/Bylass and Petra/Dorothea. Heck Rhea/Bylass might get more attention than this pairing.

As for why it’s so heavily depicted, maybe it’s just one of the more popular overall pairings for both characters. It is a good ship, AFAIK it doesn’t have to directly compete with any other very popular ships for attention in the same way that Annette/Mercedes has to compete with Annette/Felix, and unlike Catherine/Shamir it doesn’t break up in the game’s most popular route (it also doesn’t help that Catherine gets a lot of flak among fans for, you know, the war crimes).

Theories aside, loved this one. We need more of these two (and more 3h doujins in general, if I’m being honest).

I no longer follow this story, I just check the comment section to bask on everyone's tears/frustrations with this story.
And I'm here to remind you all that Dear my Teacher was sidelined for ... this ...

Well that’s just a shame.

Not the part about Dear my Teacher, the fact that you feel the need to waste your time by reading the comment section of something you no longer enjoy just to gain some small sense of schadenfreude. Surely there must be some other way for you to feel fulfillment, no?

Sigh Izumi, whip out the long couch, you might need to play therapist soon.

Also, I’ve got to admit, Maho does bring up some legitimate points. She’s way off the mark when it come to Kurokawa and has all the tact of a baseball bat, but her reasoning pertaining to Miki does hold some weight. It’d definitely be off-putting to suddenly have a friend you’ve known for awhile turn around and have a seemingly total shift in personality, even if your behavior was technically in the wrong.

That would definitely be worse than going commando. At least she can justifiably say that not having underwear was a stupid mistake, but people will assume there was deliberate intent if she's caught wearing those.

Grammar question: would it be “caught wearing those, or “caught wearing that?

Inquiring minds . . .

From a purely grammatical standpoint, it’s “those.” A single article of underwear is referred to in the plural form in English for some reason (i.e. a pair of boxers or a pair of panties). “That” is used for singular nouns, while “those” is meant for plurals. “Them” could also technically work, but that word is generally used in reference to people, so it would come across as a bit odd unless you wished to personify the g-string.

...yep, this is probably the most value I’ve ever gotten out of that English degree...

How would they even know she has that condition

I might be reading this wrong, but the way I kinda read into it, it seemed almost like she was self-conscious about her condition from the get-go (which might have been the result of bullying, although that is never really made clear). This caused her to shut people off, thus making it easy for them to exclude/bully her.

I was thinking the same thing, but then i remember some schools in japan do physical Checks in their school, So they probably saw her then.

AFAIK mirrored organs don’t leave any sort of outward physical marks, so they would have to have looked at her medical records to find that out. It’s possible that she just let it slip to someone at one point, and the rumor just spread around. It’s also possible that they don’t know, and she’s simply getting picked on because she’s a bit more dour/loner-like than everyone else (partially due to her self-consciousness regarding her condition).

Yeah, and Kanda's brother also seemed to suggest that this series was planning to branch out from the main couple into wider themes of romance between people who didn't conform to gender norms, which would've been pretty interesting. The fact that Mochi Au Lait's a veteran author makes it all the more mystifying as to why this was cancelled.

Maybe Mochi and Majoccid have a yaoi series planned for the future, and that ending bit was meant to be a tease for that? Or maybe that sequence is simply meant to be the classic “here we go again” type of ending, only this time with guys. Regardless, highly doubt that this series got axed. That whole sequence at the bar and vending machine is the exact type of thing that would have been cut if from the final chapter the publisher actually opted to cancel the series. The fact it’s there indicates to me that Mochi was planning to bring the series to an end and then set up for her next big work.

Of course, there’s also the bit about Ookuma’s parents that was never fully addressed, but then again, I actually am on the side of some of the people who say that that point didn’t actually need to be directly addressed. We can already see Ookuma slowly slipping away from the sheltered nature her parents cultivated. I’m fine with letting the story address the point in that way, rather than having it rehash the same old parental drama sequence that you see time after time in works like this.

How much do you wanna bet Hino-San just got too worked up over Koguma touching her?

Yep, that was my guess too. If she could barely handle Koguma blowing on some oatmeal there’s no way in hell she’d be able to handle everything from this chapter.

She’s got one hell of a poker face, though.

^I’m fairly certain they only appear in Claude and Rhea’s route (which are practically the same route anyway), along with a fair bit of surprising (but not unwelcome) dubstep. If you ever decide to replay the game and see for yourself, I’d recommend doing so with the Golden Deer, although you will have to bring someone in to fill that route’s yuri gap.

@ArcaJ You missed Leonie making a beeline for the ocean (at least, I’m pretty sure that’s her at the top right) and the fact that Hilda looks like she’s preparing to Gallagher a watermelon. Also, I’m not sure that Dorothea could extract a dowry from the Empire for marrying Petra since, you know, Brigid is an different country. Now blackmail, on the other hand...

@Clueless 1 Funny enough, you could argue the surfboard is “medieval” (although not in the usual European sense), since the Polynesians were likely rocking those things long before Europe’s Middle Ages (which is generally what Medieval is implied to refer to). The artificially colored fruity drinks and whatever syrup Lysithea is pouring on her ice are probably a bit more modern, though. Hell, if we’re referring specifically to real-world technology and aesthetics (since fantasy is far more nebulous to define in those terms), the picture is far more modern than it is medieval.

Out of curiosity, is there any particular part of VtM that you guys like or is it specifically the entire vampire package?

I find the whole tone and nature of WoD to be fascinating. Beyond that, though, I was primarily interested in a more modern-style setting. I love traditional fantasy, but I already get enough of that with my main tabletop group.
