^And now Kuro is doing exactly the same thing with WuWa (very self-inserty, waifu of the banner who disappear from relevance right after banner end, all female characters falling head over heels for MC, MC being a strongest being in the universe). There is still some shipping material between characters, but all interactions are VERY MC-centric.

^ Tbf I think WuWa seeing success with gooner bait is what made them veer off in that direction in the first place. PGR has always been a testing ground (remember it's almost as old as Arknights). At least the setting, where new release are mostly old characters in new frames, retains some relevancy for most. (ACA? Sorry, doesn't ring a bell.)

Again, after the global sync and the 6th Anniversary reveals it seems that Kuro does listen (or rather, can be bullied into submission). Babylonia is a welcome sink for all the parasocial potential whilst the story proper can focus again on pain, despair and suffering.

I hope Endfield has married characters like OG Arknights, I've seen Kuro fans, mainly WuWa ones, saying that Endfield needs to be more more like WuWu by making the game a hetero harem purely for their self insertion. Even with the Endfield Beta some people are trying to bully everyone that doesn't want to go along with that nonsense, and I'm so tired...

Yeah, it's bummer we have so little gacha games where characters are "allowed" to have a relations with each other (up to marriage and kids). But MasterLove stuff sell much, much better so we not gonna see much of it in the future either.

And let's be honest, while a lot of people enjoy shipping (and shipping is a thing for literal decades), not only yuri shippers are a minority (yaoi shippers are here for much longer), there is a growing number of people who, when self-insert, self-insert HARD and any of their "waifus" having even acquaintances is a no-no. Not the same sex acquaintances (unless 3P with MC option) and especially no opposite sex acquaintances. There a reason why Genshin and Honkai keep close 50-50 M/F playerbase split, but games like ZZZ, WuWa and other self-insert games are around 75-25 or lower. Can't wait for Alice BTW.

I'm hoping gacha game and devs in general ignore a lot of these people, especially the ones that don't want characters having acquaintances and interactions with other, since that weakens everything overall in my opinion. Characters need various dynamics and close bonds in stories, ways to bounce off each other and so on.

Also it's kind of funny to me that the whole MasterLove thing stemmed from Fate, namely FGO, where various characters have partners, past relationships, kids, and so on. Some people delude themselves into thinking all the women in Fate are "pure" (eyeroll) and only for them (gag), but no matter what these creeps say they can't escape the facts of the history and mythology the characters are from having those elements lmao

Yeah because their waifu gonna make "exception" for her Master, lol.

On the side I find funny how these guys will call themselves "gooners", but if you call their game "gooner game" or "gooner bait" they got angry.

The whole thing is very absurd all around lol

We should probably focus the conversation back on the art now, we may have gotten a bit off topic here >.>

^ Lol, yeah, I certainly started something with what was a kneejerk reaction to Pianissimo's cringe greeting when pulling her to assist stand user Phoenix Wright and sanitöter(♂) in the Phantom Pain Cage...

Though I feel like I should defend the EN PGR fandom. Unlike WuWa, they're actually pretty chill and normal (if being able to quote all of Metal Gear Rising from memory can count as "normal"). The CN fandom are rabid degenerates though. (E.g. they pushed for the unpersoning of some WataBianca content when the thing in question was basically "Bianca hates Watanabe so much she uses his picture for target practice".) The global fandom pushed a lot of the changes for the better. (I guess justcoz07 up there is elated by the new Kamui ^^)

I always wondered if some fandoms become "worse" when they grow (because even small group become "big" if overall group become REALLY big) or when it shrink to most "loyal" player (because it can become circlejerk).

I think bigger playerbase probably have more power to "fight" especially rabid group. I mean maybe if Snowbreak would be so "small" in comparison it would have to remove most males in game or Blue Archive wouldn't have so much degenerates (but how TERA and BA revenue show there is a lot of money to made from men attracted to children).

And yeah CN (and KR) fanbases can be crazy in their own way sometimes. I mean bullying company till they fire a female employer because they this company is mocking their genitals? Or guy trying to kill a CEO? EN have it sins (like making Firefly deleting her Twitter account because of harrasment - from self-insert no less), but we didn't get as far. Yet.
