From what I understood so far, the GI allows the Circs to leave FBB, most of them just are not motivated to do so. So I wonder if there was a political shift in the GI after they tried to get rid of the decompers 300 years ago.

It's that a lot of them want to leave but only a handful are actually allowed to, and the Circs have no idea what the criteria for emigration are. There is some sort of screening process they have to go for, and to make a guess from this chapter, the GI might be basing it on their standardized decomping test scores. If FBB is the GI's internment camp for decompers, then someone who can't decomp doesn't need to be there. There's a good chance Diode could've simply walked away from FBB if she'd managed to get to the emigration boat during the Bow Awow.

Thank you for the explanation! That makes more sense, it's been a while since I've read the part where emigration was discussed.

Just a small update, I'm almost done with the rough of 5.1 and wanted to apologize for my current rhythm, I've been having a hard time focusing on anything for multiple reasons, but thankfully we're almost done with the second volume, there's about only 1/4 left to translate!

It's adorable how they both get flustered about the prospect of becoming a married couple, and pretending to be one for the mission!

@girlswhokiss I don't think you owe us an apology. I'm really grateful that you have kept working on this!

Some typos/errors:

When Terra realized how courage Diode was showing

how courage => the courage

As I speak, a major outbreak of besshu outbreak plagues Zugspitze

I think one extra "outbreak" was left in here

Created an account just to comment on this thing. It quickly and singlehandedly became the greatest piece of GL fiction I had ever read. Topping even the one that was my favorite for the last four years. It's become an addiction to the point I keep going back and rereading my favorite chapters. Happy to know there's at least two volumes more (as my introduction to it was the manga that did not have nearly enough) and while the wait is excruciating it's also really exciting. I love Terra and Diode, separately and together, and I want them to find that little lesbian planet in the country system where they can fish together and no one will bother them.
