Why the Nozoeli doujins (that aren't porn) always have this melancholic feeling in it?
I like it, but at the same time I wish it makes me sad.
Honestly I think it's a thing with LL the original series in general. Most fics that don't have anything too sexual going on would always have a general nostalgia with a tinge of sadness in them.
It might be because of:
1. Most of the works are about their time in highschool, and this is a time when people look back to the most, either in nostalgia or in regret. It's a time filled with hope, dreams, and whatnots.
2. μ's did break up in universe. Since they disbanded, there is no certainty that their lives would intertwine much anymore after high school. People rarely keep their high school friends close after growing up after all.
3. They also disbanded in real life :(
Not only in fiction but even in reality μ's is truly gone. The only place we can see them now are in doujins and fics.
Overall thinking about μ's is just generally sad.
