The whole finger protection was a nice addition because you neeeever get to see stuff like finger guards or dental dams in hentai series, and you’re right they draw extra attention to the fingers and the way the author drew bodily fluids on top of the somewhat crinkled texture was honestly really genius

I mean there's pretty much a whole ecosystem in your mouth so, like, yeah. The thing with hands is they're our primary tool for interacting with the environment and duly quickly pick up a patina of all kinds of crap you generally don't want to get in somewhere sensitive which is why it was Kind Of A Big Deal once people worked out the importance of washing the appendages in question.

As the afterword explicitly notes that's something the author unapologetically pulled out of their ass - the thing isn't a damn STD. Actual canonical vectors seem to mostly involve inhaling Originium particles - and indeed this seems to be its "natural" spread method of choice given what happens with the corpses of people who die of it - and having pieces of the mineral directly inserted into the body.

Brings to the mind this one manga (I don't remember the title rn but it's by the same author of Between Philia and Eros) where one girl takes the mc to the school gym's locker room for a quickie fuck and the mc panics and starts making half-assed excuses but the other girl has come prepared for everything!

aside from this just being immensely cute with nice art (and finger protection is a nice touch), i really like gavial's characterization here - "if i did i would have punched you already" is such a gavial thing to say.
