Endless Eight was a perfect example of why a director should never have complete free reign. it was an exercise in self-indulgence, no more. A means to stand out beyond any other motivation. As a novel reader I was severely disappointed, as the summer break timeloop only took half a novel in the original. It was never supposed to be a big deal. The issue is that it wasted valuable episode space for the more meaningful later arcs that were honestly far more interesting. This foolish move downright killed the anime adaptation to the point where they only released a movie and then had to go to spin-offs.
Ahem, that being said, Kyonko (female Kyon) is a very popular trope in the Haruhi community. It's sad how rarely she is actually used for yuri.
