I'd love to see more Witch & Princess works in the future, this was super cute! Thanks for the translation.

Galettes are not pancakes! Don't believe rumors saying otherwise, you can see what they look like yourself with a quick google search. In this case, Petit Galette is a booklet released alongside the larger Galette anthology, which itself is the second-longest-running yuri anthology of all time and is the only consistently running magazine other than Yuri Hime.

So this one isn't random at all. As for the larger publication, I think they just wanted a name that screamed "Yuri~!" and wasn't a macaron. Since galettes are a sort of high-class cafe dessert offering, at least around these parts. Stylish, hip, modern.

You know, I think it would actually be pretty easy to make a case that the witch is an ideal spouse for a crown princess. The ability to produce an heir is a primary concern for royal marriages, but surely a decent witch could enable same-sex reproduction, so that's no issue. Furthermore, if magical ability is at all heritable in this setting, adding a magic user to the bloodline could definitely be a big advantage. I'm aware that I'm overthinking a random fluffy story but it's a fun thought exercise.
