Cassandra is pretty clearly shown to be a lesbian, so she doesn't exactly have to be "shipped" in the same way. It was something Roxanne took advantage of and Cassandra is specifically shown holding back feelings for her unnamed friend. Which made the incidents that followed particularly heart rending.
