I think it's because they have a lot of moments in the manga and the mvs. I ship them but I basically ship Maki with all the third-years.

my cousin said so too but I dunno, I can't picture Nozomi with any of the characters, not even Eli. She is more like the motherly type to me and she takes care all of them. (I don't mind the angry glares of the maki x nozomi shippers)
