even if you do separate religion from the state, we are still dealing with scriptures interpretations within the culture.. and I don't blame religion for every misunderstanding towards the LGBTQ.. because I don't assume that all atheists, non-religious individuals are understanding. (Atheists could be somewhat understanding not because they are welcoming but because they felt the burn of being discriminated ) .. oh God, the hypocrite atheists are really something!.. they tell me that they are okay with two girls kissing but two guys is two yuk for him/her hehehehe, the hell is that!
To be honest I believe religion holds us back but i'm fine with people having a belief, it should though just be a personal one that does not encroach on others.
remember what I mentioned about rituals and customs:
they are a part of our human creation that at some point embodied wisdom and reasoning.. with time, people memic them automotically and forget the essence of them. That's when those customs and rituals lose their meanings from enriching our lives to restraining it.
same is applicable to religion. It should never ever stop our nature or hinder us.
