For those who watched the anime, how is the subtext like between Nagato and Matsu?
Late reply by two years, just in case anybody else is wondering:
I would say it's text, not subtext. They don't kiss or confess, but it's clear that there is mutual romantic attraction and affection between the two. Doesn't really start until the halfway point of the series, though. Then you start seeing these little hints here and there that grow a bit more obvious as the series progresses. The credit sequence at the end of the final episode has Mutsu waiting for Nagato with a bouquet of roses in hand.
