Personally I see Umi as similar to Maki, you can pair her up with anyone and everyone and it's fantastic. Those two are pretty much the most versatile shipping fodder in the whole series.

^ It's difficult for me to see Umi paired up with all of them (specifically Nozomi, Nico, Maki, Rin, and Eli). It's easier for me to see it with Honoka, and she doesn't get enough love. I like the whole "clumsy, clueless girl attracting others with her personality and antics" theme.
