Characters? Types of characters? Preferences?
Story/Plot? Character/Story-driven?
Long/short?
Art?

I usually prefer strong character focus rather than plot-driven.

I'm currently working on a couple of comics that would have GL, so I was wondering what people look forward the most in a GL/Yuri manga/comic.

hmm, good question. I'd say it depends what (my/your/others') mood is at that moment. for example, if you are in a silly mood, does plot really matter?

for me personally, I would say artwork is like bait on a fishing pole's hook. if it is really nice and/or graphically intense, I take the bait and am more inclined to read the rest of the story. as I read the story, if the plot is craptastic or illogical (assuming I am in a semi-serious mood), I stop reading. otherwise I start weighing the merits of character development, plot development, ability to draw the reader into the story, sexual intensity (if i am feeling kinky) and overall satisfaction after reading the story.

I would argue that really good stories are very strong in a majority of the points I have listed above. but this is my opinion and others may beg to differ.

Btw, what kind of genres do you focus on (i.e. sci-fi, fantasy, romance, mysteries, etc.) ? You'll have to forgive me for asking the question this way because I think of GL/Yuri as a sub-genre within the broader realm.

In terms of reading: Almost anything, as long as the story is nice to read, or the characters are really likable. Although I avoid rape stories like the plague.

In terms of writing:
One of them is comedy, drama, romance.
The other is drama, some politics and action, romance will occur only farther into the story in the midst of character development.
For the most part the two is pg-13 or so. Aside from occasional cussing and violence, depending on the story.

I read manga on my relax time, I go for easy-going peaceful stuff, preferably with lovey-dovey moments. (Moslty any manga, yuri if possible)

Story/plot? Anything of the easy-going kind, 4komas are welcome. Have just a few story-driven stuff that impressed me. Also prefer original works, non-originals make me feel detatched.

I avoid:
- violence
- tragedy
- cheating (pissses me off like crazy)
- love triangles (HEAVYLY overused stuff...)
- drama (most of the time)
- angst (most of the time)
- creepy

Length? Long if possible...

Characters? Any, I just like to see their interactions and how they "click" with one another... Specially when it's all lovey-dovey, kinda why I prefer stories with early relationships, or with already started relationships.

Art? Anything easy to see whats going on, prefer simple looking art... with some exceptions. Favs are:
http://dynasty-scans.com/authors/natsuneko <-- MY EYES ARE NOT WORTHY OF THIS ART!!!
http://dynasty-scans.com/authors/amano_shuninta <-- Just beautiful art.
http://dynasty-scans.com/authors/chobipero <-- bit traditional but I find the quality is impressive.

All that I read is what people would read to relax after something heavy I guess (same goes for my anime, heh).

I have a high preference for tsunderes, but other that that I'll read any type of character. I prefer depth of character, longer, with more complex plot, and nice art.

But while I prefer all that, I ready everything anyway. Except for Loli and incest. I'll sometimes read ones with rape tags depending on how it contributes to the story/plot. If it has girls who like girls, I will most likely read it.

I like age gaps and drama, hmmm anybody saw the movie "Yes or No" ? I like histories like that... I also like serious characters charmed by idiots/lovely characters... My favorite couples are Ayano and Kyoko.

I don't mind the art if I can tell the effort put in it, I like to draw so ... I like to think that is more especial for me.

I also like sadistic characters a little, when they're teasing just to get some cute reactions, that's why I fell in love with "Notes from the garden of lilies" Mark that as my favorite.

What I don't like is when there's rape involved, gay for pay, too much confusions and misunderstanding... I'm starting to dislike Citrus for that, yes, it looks cool and all but when a character tries so hard to make things right and keeps failing over and over... How can I enjoy it?

sorry for my english I try my best

I'm all about romance, and especially ones where the character get together early in the story and develop their shared relationship for the rest of the plot. Sadly, those are rare.

As to what sort of story beyond that, I'd say pretty much anything is fine depending on how well written it is. I don't like futanari, for instance, but I love Happy Cherry and Celtrance's Lucky Star doujins are pretty good. Rape isn't something I want, but Though The Wind Cries makes it work in service of the plot. I prefer longer series over one-shots, but we all know how many awesome one-shots there are on the reader. So it depends heavily on execution for me.
