So I just got done reading a really good 3P romance fic for Mai Hime (Monsoon by Sombereyes, thanks for asking), but I've run into a bit of a problem at the end. That is, now that I've read such a great bit of ShizNatMai, I want more polyamorous lesbian romance. The problem is, there really isn't any to speak of.

So I'm looking for recommendations. Tag searching at AO3 and FF.net turns out to be a pretty futile endeavour, and often seems to involve some pretty extreme porn. Not the most efficient way to find stuff. I did find this page but you'll note how few entries there are.

I'm interested in fic, but it doesn't have to be fanfic. Short stories, original fic, published novels, all are fair game.

Can't really help you, but thanks for opening up the thread and posting that link. I've been interested in this for a while now because the manga that deal with it (Two and Two, Triangle Struggle) don't really do it well.

I liked Two and Two, but it was a bit on the simple side. A good bit of fluff that would have been better if it had gone into the characters' feelings some more.

Did a bit of quick researching and found The Three (post apocalyptic poly romance) and Astral Liaisons: Lesbian Sci-Fi Erotica (two short stories with polyamory apparently). Can't say anything about the quality since I haven't read them but they're rated pretty high which doesn't really say anything, I guess. And the sci fi collection is Erotica, a genre that ranges from stupid to stupidly funny in my eyes, but who knows?

Edit: Astral Liasions is written by the author of The Gunslinger & The Gear-Head, which if I remember correcty, you said kinda sucks so take that as you will.

Ooh, yeah. It's likely to be porn with minimal plot if it's Duffy. Goodreads gives it somewhat less glowing reviews, only 3.1 out of 5, saying it's a very uneven collection.

The Three does better, at 3.89/5, although it sounds a bit more brutal than what I generally like to read.

Apparently I have The Three in my eBook-Collection so I'll share my thoughts after I've finished it. I really need to work on my backlog.

The Love Live fandom could deliver on this one, if you like the characters. Honoka/Umi/Kotori are basically married already. It's been a while since I lurked the LL parts of tumblr, but from what I remember many people were pretty open to multishipping the girls in various combinations, sometimes involving more than two people. Some of the fics in the AO3 tag seem to be more than porn. I remember looking for doujins for these three at some point and having trouble finding anything between platonic and plotless porn.

I decided to try Third by Q. Kelly. Only just started, but the first little bit is tremendously silly. But execution is key, so we'll see if the actual relationship bits are good now that the setup is out of the way.

I just realised the title meant 3P as a threesome? Sorry it's just an angsty love triangle.

Oh yeah, I meant polyamory fics, not love triangles. I want ones where the 3P, 4P, whatever number it happens to be, works out in the end. As a good romance story should.

So I ended up looking for polyamory fics myself when I played Dragon Age II and realized that I didn't want to choose between the two female love interests. I sifted through what little there is for Hawke/Merrill/Isabela on AO3 and three stories stood out for me. They're all oneshots with happy endings and contain sex or mentions of it, but they're more than smutty threesome fics.

• Simple and True (a bit on the angsty side)
• Why Do You Want What You Can't Have? (mentions of game plot, very much on the angsty side)
• dance the warrior (a different combination and more physical than romantic, but it... works somehow?)

If anyone wants to check it out for themselves, here's the AO3 tag with the slash-with-background-f/f filtered out. Some of it isn't just porn.

Thinking about poly ships also made me remember that the Battle Athletes Victory anime ends in a way that could be interpreted as the main character ending up with both her best friends/love interests. I didn't think of it that way when I watched it, but now... It would solve that love triangle nicely.

There's that one SnK/AoT doujin that has a pretty good 3p in it.

This is really late and I know I should stop procrastinating (cri) but I know some LL things that come to mind with a 3+P in it. Lets see...
