I can actually see Nico enjoying the housework. She's been taking care of her sisters so long, it's been associated with caring for someone you love for her. She just transfers the urge over to Maki, is all. It's part of how she shows affection.

Ok, I'll go out on a limb here and guess this is some sort of fandom joke... I honestly can't remember that many doujinshi in which Maki takes the lead (besides Ooshima Tomo works).
