The interesting thought here is that if she's been in Makai all that time, it's funny she doesn't interact much with Shinki's other daughter, Alice.

Perhaps she was already sent away? There isn't an age to Alice is there?

Hijiri was in Makai for a thousand years, seems a long time for Alice to be in Gensokyo. But I doubt there's a canon answer to it so it leaves open the question of why nobody seems to have chosen to have them interact in a doujin. Certainly if an author wanted to it's easy to justify, but I've never seen it.

Alice is a magician so technically she has a loooong life or was that immortality? I always forget.

She's immortal, in the sense that she can't die of old age or sickness.

I'd say that the first time Hijiki visit Makai, Alice hasn't been made.

She was there for a thousand years, and by the time she was freed Alice had already been in several games. So either they were both there together, or Alice has been in the Forest of Magic for more than ten centuries.

That shines a new light on all those MariAli. Now it's Twilight all over again.

tl;dr Hijiri is terrible, but redeems herself a bit at the end.

So basically business as usual?

Speaking of the lustful Hijiri, not sure how I missed this panel:

Hah, I thought you looked at it when I pointed it out xD Gotta say though, this is probably my least favorite of the Blue Book doujins in an otherwise awesome series.

I suppose I might have just forgotten about it.

According to Perfect Memento in Strict Sense, Alice only recently became a magician.

More generally, the PC-98 games are more like apocrypha than canon—it's not clear whether any of the characters (i.e. a Shinki who lives in Makai) or story (Shinki made Alice) from the first 5 games exist in the Windows canon. Perfect Memento certainly makes that problematic, since it describes Alice as a natural human who became a magician.

I see, I want to play the PC-98 games but I can't get them to work, thankfully there is a project for 'porting' them. Anyone interested may search for @ReC98Project on twitter, though there hasn't been any updates since May (that's not indicative of no progress)
