Is that why I've noticed the IMAS fandom went from having some Yuri to basically none and now it all seems to be hetero art? Mainly self-insert male producer focused.

Gakumas' more like another series with independent characters, with background link to the original series. Like what Magia Record is to Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica, for example.
