As adorable as MakiRiko is, the fact that Maki and Rin used to date but broke up in this timeline makes me so sad, possibly even more than if they never got together at all, even if they’re still very good friends now.

I thought the "not since we broke up half a year ago" was referencing the idol group disbanding, but did I misinterpret that?

edit: wow I really wasn't reading that closely, the rest of that talk does sound more like they were together that way.

Yeah, also Muse would have disbanded when Nozomi, Eli, and Nico graduated which was more like a year and a half prior.

and now we get a chapter outlining what happened. Turns out them dating was more about escapism than romance.
