I knew the general route it was taking as soon as she found the kitsune but the details really made it shine.

It's kinda amusing to me that her first major act as a youkai is invalidating her own existence which just seems so fitting

There's always the winners and the losers in a story and sometimes not everybody gets a happy ending. Interesting story and art style. I had a fun time reading it.

So... Due to Renko's sacrifice to save Merry, her hatred essentially gave an upgrade from being to see boundaries, to manipulate them. She went on a youkai killing spree then eventually became a (gap) youkai herself. Now that she became a youkai, she now fears being forgotten and decided to go back in time and create her own Gensokyo.

Yes, I am trying my hardest to not imply Yukari and Merry are the same people.

It was kinda an interesting story to be honest... (I still wish that we could get to see the newspaper though...)
