People are dissing the "practice partner" for not confessing and being dense, meanwhile we have Player 2, who not only refuses to confess herself (the uno reverse card works in this situation too guys) but also invented (or actually started to date) a guy to Kodama the friend.

I am probably reading way too deep into the negative side here, but I am really tired of the "I'll get my crush to pay attention to me by pretending to date someone else" trope, it is petty and immature at best.

Cliches aside... this felt so flat for me. It was kind of building up the angst at the start with the introspection but it moved so quickly to the resolution. I guess since it's just a oneshot but I feel like it could have benefitted from a few more pages.

Oh I really like the artstyle!
