@Blackkitty Well, I'm coming from a Soviet bloc country myself (Poland), but Дед Мороз never really took off, we've always liked our different ways better. In fact, he's so unpopular that I know plenty of people in their twenties that don't know who he was.
I remember reading a newspaper about the most poluted cities in Europe, first two were Bulgarian (Plovdiv was second, I remember that), and then came Kraków/Krakow/Cracow (funnily enough, the last version is only used in here, foreigners stick to the original spelling, sometimes without "ó"). So I can safely say that I know how are you feeling, especially when it comes to fine particles in the air.
Well, the nice thing is the fact that I have my uni in the city.. that, and the sense of anonymity that you get from having so many people around you. Always been a hopeless cityboy, living in cities below 300 000 resident just doesn't feel right with me.
Well, I guess that the perspective of becoming an old person's never quite stuck with me.
Well, I'm open for negotiations, but it was ChocolateCakeLover who's started it all :(
@Anon99
I know, it's always made me scratch my head. I really have no idea why that is. Goes back to read own book
Well, you know what they say - everything's fine as long as you're the victor :P Waiting for more participants in the war.
