Her love may well be platonic for all we know.

So platonic love doesn't count as yuri?

I never read Himawari-san, so I'm just nitpicking what you said.

What else do they need to make this "subtext" into text, have sex for an entire issue?

No, just a kiss! xD

So it isn't yuri unless there is a physical contact. kk, I'll keep that in mind.

On a serious note, did anything change with Matsuri's all the time 'I love u'? Has Himewari-san started seeing her as a love interest now? In the 30/40 chapters out, what has her all the time 'love u' accomplished romantically? Isn't it brushed off as just platonic affection by Himewari-san all the time? Really now.

And? How does it make it less yuri? If it is one-sided or unrequited, it doesn't count? So simply because there is no progress despite characters best efforts it is subtext?

Idk. I liked it when it was being released. Characters felt realistic and the way it turned into yuri was unexpected but a nice surprise. I don't really care it was rushed or w/e since they ended up being together.

That said, in real life there are people who prefer to be on the top or bottom on a regular basis.

I think that's a good point. These dynamics didn't materialize out of thin air, they did come from actual people's preferences and are ground in some kind of reality. Although most manga reinforces these roles more rigidly.

You could argue it comes from het because guy has D and is supposed to do all the work, while girl mostly receive, so it seems natural it would work like that and authors try to mimic it when writing yuri (because they got no other clue). You also have the stereotype and common believe that guys are more sexual driven and women are pure and innocent. Of course you got dominating and passive people on both sides and as it was said already, it all boils down to people's preferences and personality, but you can't deny that kind of default image of sex is pretty widespread.

Also it is much easier to create couple's dynamic when you got 1 clearly dominating and 1 clearly submissive, but that was also pointed out already.

I prefer this age gap relationship more than the one in Mahoutsukai no yome, I guess I can't see Elias as an adult or human, and it wasn't love at first, but desperate codependency... I don't know what is like lately, I stopped watching mahoutsukai in the first half

I really liked setting and Chise so I didn't mind weird bought to be married thing (and for the most part it didn't felt like Elias was serious, since he mostly focused on her training). Not to mention he doesn't treat her as his slave or property and doesn't force her to anything and even other characters commented how stupid the idea of marring is, so it really doesn't feel like series will go there in the end. Idk if you got there in anime, but in manga it is revealed, that despite living for ages, Elias still doesn't understand humans at all, so he hoped he would finally get a clue by "rising one on his own", so Chise was basically experiment if he can understand human emotions thanks to her, so it was desperate attempt on his part as well. And he does slowly start to show emotions, even if he can't tell what he is feeling, as he becomes more attached to Chise, but it is really hard to say if we really go love with it. So far it feels more like 2 characters trying to help each other learn how to live their lives again, so yea I guess you are right by not seeing him as human, because he isn't. I'm seriously curious where story will go.

I guess it's Western female reader who can imediately associate the term bullet as vibrator. And they who have not read enough hentai and dont recognize rotor for vibrator.

To be honest, I never heard them being called bullets before, and I'm alleged "western female reader" and I did encounter them being called rotors thanks to hentai. The term I'm most familiar with is "egg" though. I still think Bullet works much better as a nickname, especially for a delinquent girl.

Some are more "mild" but have the same message behind them. Like:
Girl 1: "I don't feel like i'll be winning no matter how long i live."
Girl 2: "Wait, you thought you could win?"

This was from the series "Out of the blue!"

This is just a random couple teasing each other. One girl happens to be easily embarrassed while the other is a bit bold. This isn't uncommon in reality or romance as a whole, so how is this "top-bottom" yuri?

Yea. Couldn't find it, but there was no sex scene in Out of the blue, so I was confused about this one as well.

That is the single thing that made this series crap for me.

She wasn't going through a phase, she just had a love that didn't work out, and at the end, she takes the first step towards getting over it.

Except even in the series it is said it was just a phase.

I don't. One of reasons I like yuri to begin with is that there are no set roles in bed.

It might be 'low quality' writing compared to other manga such as One Punch Man etc., but this is a drama manga about two 16 year old steph-sisters falling in love. With the base plot that is has, there isn't much to work with to make it an amazing well thought out deep emotional introspective manga.

It actually had potential to do it. The first few chapters were great and could be taken into different direction. But Saburouta did not capitalized on it and decided to write cheap soap opera instead.

I think Citrus wasted its potential, but on the other hand I can understand why people like it, cos I used to read and get invested in series using similar cheap tricks. They don't work on my anymore, but mangas still keep on using them, because they were that effective in the first place. So I can imagine there is a lot of people for whom it will be enough to get them hooked up or they simply don't mind it, as they enjoy it for what it is. So even if you want to say manga is objectively bad, there is still plenty of reasons people might read and like it anyway.

In other words, Cannibal, sometimes people will enjoy something regardless how much you think it is terrible and you need to learn how to live with it instead of taking out your salt on internet, because that is not healthy for you.

It actually did remind me of it, as I just watched both seasons recently, but I assumed for animation it was something obvious. I had no idea manga is as detailed as well.

There is literally no excuse to not resolve Haru's gayness after a setup this clear. There are literally no two ways to interpret those pages. I'm willing to bet money that the editor axed the yuri.

I'm actually legit angry right now

If there is yuri, they can't be everyone's imaginary waifus. Also it alienates not gay people. Pick bs reason you hate less.
