Oh. So I had the opportunity to skim volume 1 of the manga recently by Seven Seas. While one of the top mistakes already showed up here courtesy of Norainhere, the whole translation feels like a speedrun in every sense. I don't believe it's a product worth buying in its current form. I'm not sure what's going on with them lately, but it seems like Seven Seas is begging people to stop supporting them. Hopefully they turn it around soon.

That said, from everything I'm aware of, the Seven Seas LNs are fine enough besides the removed passages - which will be fixed soon, if they haven't been already - so I think those are relatively safe buys for those interested.

Question, I asked this before but no response, so, hope someone response this, is there any website that I can request someone to translate chinese comic/manga since one of people in Yuri Project Board said there's no chinese Translator in that website, or I could just straight ahead ask someone to translate straight ahead on this website?

You can try 4chan /u/'s translation thread, or this thread here. Be specific about what you want and provide whatever you have, that's more likely to attract help.

There could be a tag for long strip style comics (like webtoons). They're pretty different from typical manga, in terms of how you read them. I often avoid them if I'm on desktop, but look for them if I'm on mobile. A tag could make this easier.

Definitely considering that, thank you.

As it happens, I've noticed a few similar examples recently, and I'm in the middle of compiling a list that I intend to dump in this thread sometime within the next few days. Just saying that so no one else wastes their time on it.

Progress report: Slow. It turns out I keep falling down various rabbit holes, so rather than days, it might be weeks. Or I might post in instalments. I need to stop clicking on names just because they look interesting...

Good luck! Unless you go alphabetically, it seems inevitable...

Chika-chan's 〇〇 Won't Fit is attributed to the wrong artist. The correct details are:

Name: Mikan
Circle: Sakura Mikan Hoikuen
Pixiv: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/49890562

We don't currently have a page for them AFAICT. (This is a different Mikan.)

Thanks, done.

Yamashita is such a skilled writer, I don't know how she does it. The composition of the last few chapters was rather frenetic with all the callbacks, etc. but my goodness were they satisfying to read. Then, I'm stuck wondering how one manages to impart such earnest themes upon readers without coming across as pretentious. What a nice series.

I'm very sorry for the mistake, we'll do better. I'm definitely hoping to have the blacklist limit expanded at some point in the near future.

I had higher expectations from this author. This kind of rape shit is disgusting

Then don't read it, is has tags for a reason

To be fair to the original poster, this did not actually have the rape tag when they posted it. It was added a bit after it was first uploaded.

To be doubly fair, it is actually fine to give an author the benefit of the doubt even if one does see the tags, and still complain afterwards. This manga's depiction of rape is pretty disturbing compared to a great deal of other content here with the same tag(s).

Might need to take a look a this: https://dynasty-scans.com/forum/posts/678410

Done, thanks.

Is there any chance that we can get a “long strip”/webtoon button for series? We’ve been getting more long strip stuff recently and it would be nice to have the option to read it as one cohesive strip like mangadex would do. If it can’t be done then no biggie, thanks for the time

Unfortunately this would come rather far down the pipeline, so I wouldn't see it happening anytime soon, if at all. It is a highly-requested feature, though. Thanks to you too.

Yeah, I'd quite prefer if we stayed away from using such checkered and offensive language as "uncivilized." There are many less extreme, more specific ways of expressing oneself.

i mean you're not wrong that sexism is bad but you don't have to be racist about saying it :///

I am not meaning to be or sound racist, for I am talking about a culture and a country not a race. There are thousands of Japanese people who live in better countries and who are great people. The country and culture of Japan, however has historically and contemporarily brainwashed its people into being impractical, ignorant, racist, and sexist. I have deleted the post to avoid further confusion, apologies.

Okay, you need to stop. Right now. If you hate Japan that much, then maybe you should stop reading fiction coming from there. Geez, you sound like the very same kind of person you're condemning.

I rarely do read Japanese works, as I tend to limit what I engage in to art which has respect for humanity in it. If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.

Yeah...and with that out of the way, I think you can take your posts elsewhere, too. I was heartened to see that you removed your post, but only now realise you also doubled-down on 90% of that post. Intended or not, such blanket generalizations of entire people as "broken," "brainwashed," and "uncivilized" are racism. This is an English website that hosts English translations. Whoever you think your racism is benefiting isn't even here to see it. Meanwhile, labeling an entire country "ignorant" evokes imagery of centuries of Western chauvinists who espoused the same kind of cultural absolutism you're espousing here.

In any case, I believe I was quite clear the first time. You were explicitly told to not use a certain word, which you went on to use. You were implicitly told to tone down your rhetoric and practice precision. You did neither. There are plenty of places you're welcome to preach your open hatred of entire cultures and countries. This is not one of them. Your ban expires on May 12th. Thank you, take care.

Waited for it to end and all I can say is what a completely melodramatic and boring series. How the author managed to spread such a weak premise of "loneliness" over 34 grueling chapters is beyond me. Surrounded by loving friends, family and peers makes the loneliness theme so forced and unbelievable. And the overuse of the salamander and frog analogy was just cringe inducing, making the same call back over and over was just to pad frames of drawing the same salamander over and over again.

Nice meme.

It wouldn't be a huge pain. My preference in the long-term is to normalize as many names as possible, somewhere around here (all romanized):

pen name -> twitter name (if no pen name) -> twitter handle (if neither previous) -> Pixiv/Weibo/etc name. (if none previous)

Hi, welcome. Chapter 5 hasn't made it to the site because the group behind it, Fe Scans, hasn't yet granted us permission to host it here. Hopefully that will be solved soon.

Your second question is a bit more complicated to answer, but I suppose the safest way of seeing the accurate release schedule would be to use MangaUpdates, yes. I don't think it's often a problem for remaining current on series that are already here, but there are certainly exceptions, like this one. In most of those cases, the discussion thread would probably give a good answer as well.

Day ??? of asking for a Go For It, Nakamura! tag.

Linking a parody to its reference doujin tag isn't generally how those tags work. That would necessitate widespread use of the Jojo's tag for consistency, and then every other linkable parody and reference. I'm not the one to make that call, but I am all in on gratuitous use of the Jojo's tag

Edit: I'm dead wrong, that's exactly how those tags work. Suwakoto is tagged with both touhou and yotsubato, that love live nozonico image referencing Citrus is tagged with both as well. Following that, I have a new question. Should we be tagging something like this as watamote and Jojo's? (There are similar untagged instances with Sakura Trick, Azumanga Daioh, and more.)

I don't...have an answer yet.

If you're still confused, the ZIP compression on the archive made it much smaller than the original files. (Which was possible because they were basically uncompressed to begin with.) That didn't help when reading it online, of course.

I'm looking for any type of yuri medias where the characters are super introspective with their feelings of identity, love, and sexuality.

While we don't host it on the site, Sweet Blue Flowers (Aoi Hana) by Shimura Takako is right up your alley, I think. There's quite a bit of meandering in the plot, but almost all of it is done in service of deep introspection. I would hazard a guess that any of her work would also be of interest to you, but I haven't perused much myself.

some people have a hard time seeing imagery like that, especially if they have seen it irl. regardless of the quality of the joke, I just wanted to make sure it did not trigger anyone's trauma.

It's a bit of an odd thing, I think the warnings are the right idea due to some people having history with the subject, but since basically nothing else gets a warning I end up being spoiled by the warning. The only solution I can think of would be an opt out warning (though obviously that would have issues with being carried over to aggregators).

It's a worthy trade-off, and in the future I'd expect more warnings for other things, though it's not a fleshed out idea yet. By "opt out warning" I assume you mean something like a button in your profile to never see them?

I would take any reason to re-read Octave, tbh. That would be fascinating. But let's be glad that lockdown 4 and 5 won't happen, so it'll remain just like the dream here.

I'm also not sure if it's just the transfer to a more digital medium, or her growth as an artist, but everything is wayy cleaner and cuter in these oneshots. Not as drastic as something like Kishi Torajiro, but still a really noticeable difference. Really glad she's creating content again, I need to go sign up for Galette...

Tags and archive have been updated, apologies for the delay on both. I don't think there's enough here to justify Gyaru, which was suggested.

The story was a bit touch-and-go, but I really enjoyed the opening. "Let's talk about our problems and solve them" is so un-manga (and often times, reality), that it's super refreshing to see!
