Asako steadily becoming more butch and/or assertive

She's not really going the butch route, she's incredibly feminine. Butch may be seen as a masculine form of gender expression, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're assertive or even the "dominant" one in the relationship and appearance plays a huge part in it, it's beyond tomboy level. People who choose not to shave (body or facial hair), who get masculine haircuts (long or short), who dress like the men in their culture is expected to... It's a much more extreme rejection of femininity.

Incredibly cute chapter! Her smile in this page is seriously so cute. Just something really nice about how casual they are about all that's happening so far.

Yeah, so Koto can lock up Aya in a room, steal all of Aya's future, and never get over her fears and recover.
Will there ever be a day when people stop acting like there are "evil" or "good" characters in this work, as opposed to characters with their own desires that may conflict with the others'?

None of the advice Erika gave was bad and Koto needed that wake-up call. Until she gets over her fear, she'll never be able to have anything with Aya or anyone, something the manga has literally shown us with all of her failed dating attempts. It would require vulnerability, to be open, to change, and Koto is clearly not willing to. She wants to live forever in the past, with the Aya from then, and for that she must keep her caged and unable to move forward when she's a teen in a delicate situation. She doesn't want an equal but an ideal.
Everyone has conflicting feelings at some point in life, and sometimes your "selfish" desires can be good for others, and this is the case for Erika's wish for Koto to get over the past, a wish she's constantly beating herself over because she cares about her friends and understands that in this situation not everyone is going to win. I too thought at some point Erika was hiding something, but more than anything she just hates herself.

And what guarantees that the spiriting away wasn't the result of Aya's own actions and desires, and Erika is merely blaming herself thinking it was her fault because of the possible argument they had on that fated day? "If not here, where is it?", from the start Aya seemed to want to get away from something, gazing at something far away. She wouldn't recite that section for no reason, there's more to her we haven't seen yet. What was she so dissatisfied about? I see a desire for freedom in her, wanting to be independent, to find her own place to belong... Or just not to be there at all.

With how the story is going, it's safer to assume the title is literal and none of them are going to be remaining in that triangle, it's never going to work out and this is about how it's going to fall apart completely. All they're doing is destroying themselves by remaining together.

Yessssss been loving this manga series and I've been curious about the novel. Excited to have this here! I wish I could help.

Any feedback, like pointing out if there's anything that's too confusing to understand or if the current formatting isn't easy to read, helps a lot.

I'm surprised to see this so quickly after girlswhokiss floated the idea, but I am excited too.

It's just this good! I have been working on it pretty much nonstop for the last 2 months and Kinsei's been helping me lots with the English (I'm not a native speaker) so it's been going well so far.

It's seriously a must read for anyone who's been enjoying the manga, there's a lot that's novel-only. It's a great adaptation but Terra's unawareness towards her own gaying out is way more visible in the novel, with how often the narrative points out Diode's attractiveness to her, and also Diode's own attraction to Terra and her casually looking at her chest lol. Many details regarding the world outside of FBB have yet to be brought up, especially the Dàxúnniǎo (大巡鳥), but some of those should be fine even if brought up later on.

Spoilers from chapter 8, it'll take a while for me to get to it, since I'm currently translating chapter 5, so read at your own risk:
If we were to compare the manga's chapter 13 (and possibly chapter 14) with its novel counterpart, chapter 8, it's greatly changed from how they actually have a chat regarding Terra not truly wanting to get married but being pressured into it due to social expectations, how she struggled growing up and often bumping into things, how boys hitting her butt and chest, even if accidentally, made her uncomfortable and she never really felt much towards men. After the chat, they get a lot more physically affectionate, with Diode comforting Terra by allowing her to rest on her lap, and like always her scent being calming — then Terra gets back to her senses after they part ways and wonders just what was it that she was doing and why it felt so good, first step towards becoming more aware of her gay feelings.

And no I'm not saying it's a bad adaptation because Tanaka Ahiru also places great attention into detail (Like Kinsei's pointed out to me, Diode's clothing progressively became more "fitted" as she became comfortable living with Terra and the huge contrast between Idaho as a whole being full of cracks and the Elder Council room being drawn crispy clean), so on its own it's really good and enjoyable.
Plus, I really like his besshu and outfit designs, expressions... Just the art as a whole that gives us great, cute and nice moments while exploring their dynamic without having to outright state what's happening between the two. Great storytelling imo.

Text below was from a mistranslation.. Sorry. There's also a document that states their height being 143cm and 184cm so likely this is true in the novel too despite him explicitly stating 148cm for Diode.
Also, Terra's novel height is most likely around 190cm~200cm if we calculate it based on Diode's novel height (148cm 身長一四八センチ, 2/3 of Terra's height 身長が三分の二) and her being 20% bigger than her aunt (体はテラより二割小さい). I'm more inclined to her being 200cm tall, which would give her aunt a more average height around 160cm, and explain her habit of hitting into things and also being almost as tall as a door frame. So, quite taller than her manga height of 184cm.

With the introduction of Eda and Magiri in the manga, I wonder if we'll get some glimpses into the prologue's events (although not coming from Diode's mouth) or if he'll let them chat about what they know about the past and advance the story.
There's a lot more I'd love to comment about but I'll leave that for when I'm further into it and others are able to read it too! I'm just happy more people can enjoy this work too because it's seriously great.

(Sorry for the longpost, I really like Twinstar Cyclone Runaway.)

This one's pretty vague, it's a series; it involved two girls who would wake up in some abandoned post-apocalyptic dream world. They get together in the end if that helps.

This maybe? https://dynasty-scans.com/series/lily_system

Honestly I'm still a bit anxious about this, but the prologue and ch 1 of the novel are in an acceptable state, and you can currently read them here
(Kinseijoshi's compiling them on a .pdf as we get them done)

Huge, huge thanks to Kinseijoshi for helping me with this, while I'm responsible for the translation, she edited and greatly helped me with grammar and to make it fluid and natural sounding. The sentences are only to this level thanks to her.
I'm really grateful for it!

It's been going slowly, but we're getting there. She's currently editing ch 2 and I'm making progress on ch 3 (There are a total of 11 chapters). It takes a while because I don't have much energy for anything, but I promise it'll get done!
There may be some minor translation mistakes, but those should get fixed as soon as I notice them.

I think some people on Dynasty should not be reading anything other than wholesome slice of life. I find tuning into a series only to be enraged about fictional teen girls kind of a weird hobby.

I also think some of you are a bit too comfortable throwing "bitch" around as an insult. I don't know if you're a guy but if you are then I'm even more suspicious of you.

I fully agree with you, I'm tired of those people completely exempt from misogyny defending this behaviour. If you don't have the maturity to read works that aren't a black & white "this character is good, this character is bad" and constantly holding your hand, then only join the discussion after you've grown up.

I think there's some younger people on here, some of the newer users, maybe anyhow. The average age probably skews older though, I believe in part because this is a forum and forums are sadly generally a relic of older internet. I don't mean that negatively, only that forums aren't nearly as booming anymore lol

Yeah it definitely does skew older, I've seen some who sounded underage here and there but I myself am also a baby, since I'm only 21. I started browsing this site as a 10 years old who could barely understand English...

I'd imagine it would have a pull for anything touching it, sucking it entirely to one side. This is mostly to avoid nasty thoughts about that partially through hug ending in gory tragedy.

That moment when you go to hug your sister and you end up stuck in the past with her detached arms...

I didn't think of this. Lmao.

She was a baker, she was a miller, can I make it any more obvious?

Yes, because I don't get it.

Thanks for giving me company. Read that comment a few times wondering how I was missing something so "obvious".

A miller in the sense of grinding grains, and since you need grains for bread they're the perfect combination, a miller and a baker.

Yay, it's here! The chapter where Diode goes full cat mode! Tanaka Ahiru's done, in my opinion, a great job of showing her slowly warming up to Terra (And there's something else I'd love to comment about but it's something that happens much later into the novel so I can't T_T) but also just how friendly Terra is, respecting her space and all. I don't know, there's just something so filled with love in this chapter.

I'd also like to add that they do have official heights in the manga! 143cm for Diode and 184cm for Terra

I'll be sharing the novel's prologue soon (but be aware that it'll give some background you wouldn't otherwise get from the manga at this point on Eda and Magiri) because its translation is pretty much done and I just need a second person's opinion on how much sense it makes. It's been going very slowly because I'm often too tired to do anything, but I've been making progress and I'm just excited to allow more people to enjoy this work! I love it so much.
The formatting is nowhere near "final" but the text itself should be fine and I'd appreciate some feedback if possible anyway.

People are confused why Misa acted this way after learning about what happened to Io. But when you understand that victim blaming is normalized in Japanese culture (again, I'm not saying it is exclusive to Japanese culture), it becomes more clear why Misa acted the way she did. However, it still does not justify her actions.

I don't know if this is the fault of my difficult expressing myself in English but you have misunderstood me.

Giving valid criticisms of a country or culture is not racist.

I'm not saying that's what is racist, because I don't agree with excusing and protecting sexism in cultures, or that just because it's coming from some "minority" then it's okay for them to be doing that... It's acting like it's an unique problem to them that bothered me a bit and I only mentioned racism because people (not you in special) will often, even if they aren't aware of it, be harsher on whatever they're criticizing on the basis of it being asian, or just not white, and act like it's inherent to them and not a problem that's created by an environment that allows it to grow, which happens everywhere in the world.

Also, just because it happens in other places, doesn't make it any less of a problem. Like I said, even though it happens in other places, the difference is that in many of these places, people actually listen to and sympathize with victims, instead of being dismissive and victim blaming like some people here.

And we literally think the same regarding it not being less of a problem. Again, I'm not saying we should excuse those things, that wasn't what I was trying to say at all. Just that rape culture isn't unique to them, even that way of acting isn't unique to them and you aren't saying this either... But exactly because it isn't unique that for me it doesn't make much sense to act like it's especially Japanese when it's just rape culture thriving more easily.
It wouldn't make sense for me to say that it's Brazilian culture to think that it's okay to rape women just because they were wearing shorts, that they should be quiet about it and blame them for it so I don't see why it'd be different when it comes to any other country.
