Lots of subtext between various characters, but nothing as overt as the Eiko/Enami-sensei one. It's a 4-koma gag manga at its core, though, so I doubt it will ever go too far in any direction romance wise.

There were plenty of times before where I downright didn't like Kaoru at all as a character, but even I have always had to admit that she genuinely cares a whole lot about her sister and would go through a wall for her. Those chapters where she got to see Honoka glow and finally find her place in the world have been quite moving.

By the weirdest of coincidences, which would actually be very a propos with this series now that I'm thinking about it, I was just rewatching the anime for the past 2 weeks XD It's just as funny as I remembered! Mai herself also pulled quite the epic yuri troll job on Yuuko that one time, so she'd know good work when she sees it :P
