Well I had a conversation(?) with the author on Twitter and she basically told me why this scene between Karin and Riri happened. It's all good now lmao.

I would post it here if I knew how to make spoilers.

Or don’t? We don’t need the additional commentary when we can just wait for the next chapter. Personally, I want more of Karin and Riri. Karin’s great, she’s honest and open with her feelings and actions. And I think she could help Riri be more open and honest about her own feelings.

I mean, the whole point of spoiler bars is that you don't have to read it if you don't want it, but it's still there for people who do.

To post spoilers w/ blacked-out text, just put double equal-signs "="x2 before and after the text you want to block out.

I'm always curious to hear the author's thoughts on why they write a scene the way they do. I'm interested in people's processes for writing.

Sure, there you go

She told me she only created the scene with Karin touching Riris breasts to emphasize how different it feels when Mei is touching her later in the story. Karin is just a foil to let Riri grow closer to Mei, so we can expect something sexy happening between them on this trip

Btw Tamamushi is incredible nice to talk to. She loves to read the eng localization of her mangas.

Aww Riri is indeed too pure (comically so). I'm just glad Tamamushi stayed true to her word and upheld certain boundaries. There won't be anything happening between Karin and Riri.

This deserves more comments. So far it's very intriguing. The sharp tooth gal is just peak but this monster has to be special or very powerful. I don't think takahashi can switch forms like that and swapping the gender.

Madmac posted:

Little Fuuko was so cute, and damn, her parents are loaded. I guess Nana was her nanny

"Nana" is how a child would call her grandma.

So the lady was the mom's or the dad's mother. Obviously, they looked down on her.

That makes sense, thanks for letting me know. I gotta say I enjoy these chapters alot. I'd love for more chapters where Fuuko is doing some introspection. It's funny how the author finds this more dark than all the emotional abuse, the hurting and cheating, and she's kind of right.

Trampling on a child's innocence is just sad.

Little Fuuko was so cute, and damn, her parents are loaded. I guess Nana was her nanny and living with them while having a huge library. Though I don't think Grimm's Fairy Tales are suitable for little kids.

Does the author even know that those books were not meant for children? If I were to read that to my five-year-old daughter, she would be traumatized.

Nanase's bio was interesting in the sense that she's truly a completely ordinary girl who loves volleyball. You wonder why she even fell in love with Yuni, "always smiling and doing her best." The complete opposite of Yuni. There might be some foreshadowing with her childhood friend; it would be interesting if something develops there.

Contrary to what others think, Nanase is still the better partner for Yuni, in my opinion. She's healthy with a good mindset in life, ambitious, active, and outgoing. It would be great if she could pull Yuni with her, but alas, we know that's not happening. Fuuko is just too messed up and toxic.

I already gave up on the writing and am just going to enjoy it for what it is: a beautiful, slightly morbid, funny trainwreck. I don't know about you guys, but I burst out laughing when Fuuko said she wants to be her mommy XD.

Props to Karin. Mei's indecisiveness should get more of the girls to explore each other. Karin can't stop being best girl for me.

That's lame and defeats the point of the manga. Why have the girls date each other when the point of the manga is they are attracted to Mei because of one of the 5 senses. If any character activates that attraction than the manga's entire plot is thrown out

Yeah, it's still labeled as harem and it wont happen. Karin is the kind of character that's good to move the plot forward or in a specific direction (like making mei or the other girls jealous to take their relationships further).

But boy she's not dating material. Great for a fling and some fun and that's it. If she wasn't so promiscuous and nonchalant about kissing and thirsting after other girls for Mei to see, she would have dated her.

It's true she can do whatever the f she wants but fondling and making moves on her friends while she's still going for Mei? I don't see why people would like her in a harem manga.

So tired of Karin, I wanna see more of the other girls

There is no yuri more peak than this.

Well, this sure is a statement.

I think this work is interesting in its own way, but I I find it hard to take it seriously, to be honest. I can't imagine people really behaving like this, it feels very exaggerated. That being said, it has been entertaining so far and I am curious to see where it will go.

This goes for 90% of those stories or manga in general.

They are entertaining but you can't tell me there are actually people out there having a dumbass competition like that lmao.

It doesn't help that it's taking itself quite seriously. Though it's a fun read and you shouldn't think too much into it unless you enjoy that.

It just so weird to me than all inmates are apparently lesbians since the sexbots are only female xd. Well we know the author decided this deliberately since people would flame her to no end if the robot had het sex.

Eri reminds me of my ex girlfriend tbh. She made a clear distinction between our intimate relationship and her friends.

The fact we had sex and all was less a thing for her than her friends and she put me always second. The only thing she had going for her was that she's gorgeous, it took me some time to cut her off.

Eri is really just like her, a great friend but a horrible lover. I feel for Fuyuki. And to some extend Kyou, it can hurt alot to fall in love with that kinda person.

I gotta say this really grew on me, I hated the het bs and the dumbass promise at first. But now I'm seeing more parales with my personal life and it feels less unrealistic. Just shows when people can relate to a story you start to like it.

Tbh all characters pretty much suck in this series. Though Kyo and Eri are the worst. Fuyuki is just a pain in the ass since she can't let go and is way too nice.

Wasn't Fuuko her sugar mommy already? But yeah, this went downhill since the cheating got found out.

I'm not even mad, it's just so dumb and predictable. How about some build-up first, develop Nanase and Yunis relationships so I can actually care that she's back to cheating.

Though I do hope we will see Fuuko nursing her lmao

Are you telling me Nanase didn't see the McDonald's with the giant ass sign?

Oh well she had it coming. Now Yuni must run to her side squeeze to get comforted because of her evil girlfriend. How dare she not find her fast enough

Karin is fun to be around and a nice fling but definitely not serious dating material. I'm glad we can finally move on from her arc and back to Riri, it's been a while.

Good thing she listened to her editor, if they already went at it in the first chapter without any build up it would be even more stale. Just shows that Iwami is such a good artist with great esthetic sense but she's not a good writer.

She clearly has a thing for cheating, but I wonder if she thought of the story beyond that. Some more character development, interesting twist and turns, subverting expectations would be dope.

Yuni as protagonist and Nanase are so god damn boring, I admit the only interesting character is the mental Fuuko. I understand why people like her the most lmao.

Don't tell me she will confess to move on? Wow I always appreciate some legit plot development

Exactly my rant a few posts before lmao xD

Yeah I read that and wholeheartedly agree. The thing is so far this manga is pure sadism, everything is set up to make Fuyuki suffer.

Because of this cheap promise she won't confess hence Eri stays clueless and keeps all the guys that railed her rubbing into Fuyukis face. Eri is also clearly emotional damaged, its pretty much statistically proven that people who are promiscuous. with a high body count tend to be more likely to fail in longterm relationships. She doesn't even like the guy, she just goes along with it cause he genuinely cares for her. Not once was there a hint of Chemistry between them.

She's a hugely flawed character to set up more misery for Fuyuki. I truly hope she's acting like this cause she's clueless about Fuyukis Feelings, otherwise she's just an unredeemable cunt.

My point is this story is nothing more than a Trainwreck to play your feelings and that's why it's so engaging. It's good purely for the cheap drama, but as a girl love manga pretty worthless so far.

I don't know what to make of these stories, I mean in general it's fine, gay people fall in love with straight people all the time and suffer for it. But can this story be truly considered Yuri then?

So far there is none of it and it wouldn't surprise me if this het stuff drags on till the end when suddenly (maybe) Eri realises she's gay for Fuyuki. You might get an extra chapter of them being together after going through all this crap, and that's it. Also the protagonist not being able to move on because of some BS promise kinda kills immersion for me, I would find it more believable if she's just a poor idiot who can't let go.

It kinda reminds me of doujinshi tagged under Yuri because theres one panel of girls kissing but the rest of it is a sausage fest.

Mashiro is still whoring herself out, how can she be mad at what makino is doing lmao.

I understand Fuyuki not confessing to Eri out of fear of losing a friend but the bff promise they made some years ago is such contrived BS. Eri is emotional damaged but she got kinda over the bullying, she's doing pretty good imo, she has friends and hobbies, goes to college with an active dating life (albeit not very wholesome) but she's young so she has still time to settle.

Her biggest flaw is definitely the unhealthy clinging to Fuyuki, that's also pretty selfish and not cool since she has to be somewhat aware of her feelings. One could say she exploits the fact she never has to turn her down because of the "promise" :')

Fuyuki is acting like if she breaks that years old promise Eri wont survive it. I do like complicated relationships and my drama but only if I can somewhat relate to the characters that act like real people.

I really did like this one untill the BFF promise.

I can't believe there are people in a yuri forum who preach teen chastity.

I get enough of that sicko shit from Christian conservatives in everyday life; I don't come here to read that girls with an active sex life are brainless.

I don't think anyone is preaching, nor saying that, it's more about having some restrained. You don't sleep around when you are in a relationship just because you can't keep your hormones in check, Yuni is not a god damn animal.

Having next to no inhibition even at that age are signs of psychological problems or extreme lack of maturity.

It's completely fine to be promiscuous if that floats your boat but doing that while in a relationship is just scummy. I think the problem is this whole thing speaks to edgy young people while older folks like me who have been there, done that know it's unhealthy and that sparks all kinds of discussion.

I just noticed this series started in 2017 and there are barely any updates. I hope the author will wrap things up accordingly before this just fades away. It's really good for what it is

idk what you mean barely any updates. Oct '17 to July '23 are 69 months (nice). with 85 chapters the series is on a better schedule than others with a monthly release schedule like it

The Author released 15 chapters the last 24 months, they used to publish 2 chapters a month and that went down to once a month with breaks of nothing for 3 to 5 months.

I don't know if the author has had health issues or just less time/interest but at this pace I'm concerned it will get a proper ending. I mean they are self published and you can read everything for free. It's more of a passion project so if they feel like it they can just drop the whole thing.
