I don't remember the early chapters that well, but this felt like a really explicit showing of Yoshiko's romantic interest in Hanayo. I thought it might have been more ambiguous before, but maybe I don't remember it that well.

Yoshiko takes Hanayo on a date ( https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/hanamonogatari_ch03#22 ) to make her a perfume, and then to dinner. The perfume making place (https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/hanamonogatari_ch04#21 ) and the restaurant (https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/hanamonogatari_ch05#8 ) are both run by two women that Yoshiko knows. Hanayo finally asks, and the lady at the restaurant confirms that she and the perfume lady are a lesbian couple. And that they have been for 30 years (https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/hanamonogatari_ch05#23 ) .
Hanayo cries in the restaurant bathroom upon the realisation that there are other paths she could've followed in life, and that there are people her age who have braved those paths (https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/hanamonogatari_ch05#26 ) . It's kind of interesting that Makita got told she doesn't have sex appeal even though the oneshot depicts that she absolutely does. Perhaps she was always uncomfortable with taking on the "submissive" role that women are expected to embody in traditional heterosexual relationships, and that caused her to be nervous/hesitant when it came to sexual matters until now?

This story is told with Satomi's voice, as seen from Satomi's eyes. What she sees in Makita is what we get to see of her. It's not necessarily the same that her ex-boyfriends saw.
whether that was because they were men, or because they didn't love or desire her the same way as Satomi is anyone's guess.

in my case: my daughter learned to walk and speak, then we had Covid lock downs, despite being very careful i managed to get Covid, then we moved to the countryside of a new (for me) Country, and then i turned forty.

despite that, I managed to do at least one fun thing this year: girls dance night out! after which I taxied five drunk (straight) women in my tiny car. hope i can repeat that before the end of the year!
