I adore this recurrent theme in the story. The idea that the game had such a shallow interpretation of the characters and their relationships, and that the background characters you didn’t even get to see had a major impact on their lives. But that does kind of imply that, since the main beats of the story are still in place, we’re still on the train to doomsville. XD

I feel like I know exactly where this is going. The author is doing an excellent job laying out the foundation for the upcoming plot, so I really don’t expect any major surprises, but it feels self indulgent and lovely to read regardless. In much the same vein as the theme - even though I know where it’s going - I want to see the way their relationships grow and enjoy the journey getting there.

Poor Natori. XD “Does she think I’m a pet!?”

I think the transition from fantasy to reality is very subtly conveyed in a way I can get behind. We definitely start parasocial, but when she starts becoming dissatisfied with the fantasty and more interested in and curious about the real person she's delivering to... ionno. That the ex-idol is dressing up for her as an idol and isn't showing up as honestly as she was at the start is honestly coming across as more parasocial to me - because she's recreating the environment that they started in believing that's what the delivery girl really wants from her.

Ionno y'all I thought it was cute. It's a shame it's a oneshot. I kinda feel like you could easily write a whole story about this kind of thing.

.... Why "Anemone in Heat"?! I've seriously been avoiding this because I assumed it was going to be some sea-tentacle-monster girl tomfoolery. XD

"Hur dur I've seen enough anime to know where this is going." Were it not for the excessive "lots of hugging" tags I might never have had a peek. But again... just figured... the sea-anemone monster girl probably had lots of arms to hug with... golly how have we gone so long without the NSFW tag if she's in heat all the dang time?

Anyway. This is cute. Right. Carry on.

W-what?! Why???

I can totally understand being upset and fleeing considering Ruriko's insecurity and everything, but the slap was a bizarre choice.

Wow, that was actually pretty painful to read. I think this has gone well past the point where I'd have to accept straight up that the other person just isn't remotely interested. Even someone who's ace would at least have an inkling of what you're shooting for.

I know, I know, it's supposed to be funny, but where do you even go from here? XD She could probably ask Yuzu to marry her and Yuzu might say yes thinking it's some kind of cute game.

Tfw Hiroko will somehow find a way to misunderstand this situation and think something else is going on.

W-wait, didn't Mistress catch these two dorkatrons together in the kitchen in the second chapter?? XD But now she's wondering about it?

Diana looks like she might go down the yandere route...

Yeaahhh... I get the feeling that we're basically going to tell the same story, but the characters are swapping roles and positions. :0

I kinda felt like things with Diana were moving too fast for this to be the endgame. She still doesn't get poor Natori's name right, and even though she's paying attention to Natori's feelings it really seems to be wrapped up in whether or not Diana is getting what she wants from her. "Is she paying attention to me?" "Am I making her happy?" "Why is she looking at Lapis like that when I'm right here?"

It's neatly thematic considering Natori's insecurity complex, too. Like, they both struggle with the same feelings but they're being driven in very different directions. Natori is conscious that she might be selfishly vying for other people's approval, but Diana very much isn't. Natori is getting the support and encouragement she needs, and those points in Diana's story that would have driven her to become the protagonist are being pulled out or replaced because of Natori's unintentional interventions. :x

Lapis won some serious points here, though. I wonder how we're going to handle her classism and shenanigans, later. I'm going to guess we're going to bring back the "I might not always be your ally, but I'll never be your enemy" bit, but hmmm... xD

This manga is spoiling me really badly after a bad week in the office. XD <3 Blessed AriteDrop for working so hard to get this out to us.

Something is up with this.
Like
I've been reading this from the beginning and I get why people keep saying she must have amnesia or something, because there's just something bizarre happening here.
The writer is approaching the subject matter in earnest - at least, as much as any romcom with any other adult or similar-aged pair might - goofy background shenanigans included. You almost expect a "happy ending"? So there must be an explanation. Right?
But no.
I don't think there is.

I think I enjoyed this more when it was a dorky shortform comedy. It didn't make me think about the consequences. I could just laugh at the jokes and move along. However, the author is asking us to take into consideration that Mai is a giant who often seems perfectly aware of what she's doing and saying that, perhaps, this isn't as problematic because Tae couldn't possibly force Mai into anything. But that isn't how that happens all the time. It's why so many survivors of minor attracted adult lovers often blame themselves.

I don't know. I like the characters and I hope things work out for them. I'll probably keep reading.
But having a wee bit of a struggle here in my little corner.

Wait, this isn't a oneshot? Why do I feel like I got hit with a bus?

Pfaw, kudos to the translator here. This must have been extremely dense to work through.

Found myself burning out so I’m taking my time on chapter 9, but just know this is still being worked on.

Don't worry! Take your time. Thank you for your hard work!

This website has me so desensitized to incest that I legit didn't even think about it. I am peeking at the comments because I was surprised by the last chapter's credit page.

Were people really that upset? If Lene or her brother had been wee little beans who were being taken advantage of I'd understand, but they're grown adults?

Either way, it's over. Forward march ~

I actually really enjoy this portrayal of jealousy and how it's being treated. It's so real. Yeah it's convoluted and stupid bs but real life problems are that way. Hima is just way more kind about it than most folks would be. That said, I like that I feel like I can see the real motivations behind what everyone is doing. The author is keeping just the right amount of subtly and showing their hand when it makes sense to. Top tier writing in a manga. T-T

I'd bet my shoelaces that Shiho is acting out because she felt like her buddy was picking Yori over her. It would explain why she got SO MUCH MORE UGLY realizing Yori and Hima were together and that the love she let divide them had totally not manifested into anything.

I'm still super invested and enjoying the heck out of this, but I understand why people might want something a lot more black and white.

Tfw you just discovered this and the chapter ended THERE.
That's rude! What happens next!?

I'll keep an eye on this one. So far the author seems to be setting up a "resisting who you genuinely are/internalized x-phobia" kind of story? Not a huge fan of ABO, mostly as it usually centers around men and having the "socially accepted masculine man" rape the "weak and effeminate man" for x contrived reason, but we'll see how this goes.
