As a psych undergrad, this is really enticing! Genre such as this is always worth a dime a page!
This isn't a subject to come surprising from Japan as it's one of the countries suffering higher depression and Suicide rates (not as alluring as we make it out to be, perhaps?).
(Although they did break-free; rates dropped lower than the past 18 years by the end of 2015).
This author is really commendable, however, for her narrative skills and for overcoming the throes she might have encountered publishing this. But cannot say anything more until the next chapters. ^^

Another hypothesis, but again, this could just be me being so hyped for these delicious updates the past two weeks.
I have no idea what Inoue-senpai's exact deal is, but regardless of that, Inoue-senpai looks like the VERY spice Yamada and Kase needs. I think their relationship had been cute up to this point but being it their final year in high school, they could use some twist in the plot to grow up from just being cute. Actually, at the rate they were before Mikawacchi dropped bomb regarding Inoue-senpai, I worry for them ever making it through a few months apart. We've seen them trouble over things that I deem petty. That is to say, they barely know anything about each other yet. Some good disruption other than their routine kawaii-kawaii problems is a nice touch of realistic relationship conflicts...

Perhaps the reason why people are bothered by the this series' plot (me at first, included) is because it's not a narrative at all. Unlike your everyday anime, it doesn't intend to tell a story. Maybe it's just the geek in me that caused me to love this show for its generation and culture value. It's full of symbolisms that portrays a LOT in the deeper pointOV. You can rewind thrice the episode and come up with a handful answers and more interesting questions. And yes, plotholes everywhere and ridiculous symbolisms althroughout indeed. If we're comparing this to any other anime labeled yuri (labeled anything at all, really), this is sh!te! But these there are reasons why it's deemed a masterpiece (in a unique sense). Many does not get it at all and share elfbs-san's hatred.
Well... It just means Utena isn't your cream's perfect cherry. No one is forcing you to love it.
