I finally got around to rereading and finishing this series. It is so beautiful, I'm afraid any adaptation wouldn't do it justice.
One of the many things that I loved about this manga, which made it stand out from other slice-of-life series I've read, was the author's ability to present casual—often almost nonsensical—conversations. It really felt like I was watching real people, rather than fictional characters. I found myself laughing along their sarcastic jokes, gossiping with their friends, even nonchalantly discussing self-existential matters. I often see such conversations implied to be happening off screen or replaced with wordless scenes. In this manga we really get to see these people connecting the way we do in real life. It felt like I was watching my own conversations with my friends and family.
