Hello. I'm a mathematician and I just can't let it slip. That's not a formula, that's a ecuation.

More the other way around. Formulae are, generally, equations that express a value that you want to find (i.e., single-variable unknown) in terms of other variables. While you might get some people who would call the example in the comic a formula, since it's not being used to find a specific value or variable but instead is here specifically to describe a set of curves, I don't think most people would.

Ooof, I just learned that Thomas Edison married a 16 y/o girl and now the encounter with that guy just got a lot darker in retrospect.
