I'm guessing this is "What if Homura succeeded in stopping Madoka from becoming a Magical girl at the cost of her own life?" Kind of bitterweet ending, considering it means the Kyubeys are still in charge and the magical girls are still being coerced into becoming emotional livestock. Still a nice alternate ending for the characters.

I cried when Homura saying “thanks Kaname-san” instead of saying “thanks Madoka”.

It’s way too early to be crying my eyes out. Why are Homura and Madoka usually depicted as star crossed lovers? Homura deserves to be happy after all the trauma she’s endured crying intensifies.

I remember reading this while listening to Detective Conan's 57th Ending, Sadame, and it really fits somehow. I absolutely loved this.

Madoka also deserves to be happy after everything too, she's not just a reward for Homura. That being said, the ideal would be the both of them being happy together with each other.
