In an appropriate context, this tidbit of interactions in the courses of these characters' lives could range from friendly teasing to the climax of a tortuously angsty climb.
If your referring to my attempt at a prelude, thanks for the feedback. If I ever expanded the story, I would be very careful to ensure the Chief's provacative statement was well outside the realm of possibility of causing B-san psychological or emotional harm, especially via explicit or implicit manipulation tactics. For example. I would probably place this scene toward the end of B-san's tenure at the precinct prior to transferring to a more prestigious position in another area. I would also emphasize, through situations exposing the charaters' mutual depth of high regard for the other, that A-San only selflessly seeks B-san's success.
Any student of yuri is well versed in the art of angst and variety of tools available for building and diffusing tension. The possibilities for positive spins on this story are limitless.
