Speaking as an absolute deal, it's certainly true; each series has room for a discussion regarding its sub and its dub. And when one completely changes what a character says, it's definitely ripe for criticism.

Meanwhile, not only are American VAs spread across the country, but dubs are the bottom-of-the-barrel in terms of pay scale, so the real talent tends to go to other media(eg, video games or western cartoons).

And to put that into perspective for you all, video game voice acting pay is so bad that SAG-AFTRA has been on a strike over it since October. This is part of a dispute that's been active for a couple years, mind you all.
